My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday in Ojai. He had gone to HS there and always wanted to eat at The Ranch House but couldn't afford to take a date there in those days. He finally made it and I was the lucky girl who got to accompany him. Our waitress has worked there for over 20 years and gave us a wonderful review of the menu and shared the restaurants history with us. We both had different nightly specials, both were excellent. We really wanted to try the specialty of the house, scallops, but didn't feel like it for a main course. She told us they would happily make them as an appetizer. They didn't disappoint. They were cooked to perfection.
