“Like a Fairy-Tale Village!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

What a treat it was to stay at the Emerald Iguana! We stayed for two nights and were graciously upgraded due to some construction that was going on over our intended room. I cannot say enough about the room itself, the staff and the property in general. It was peacful and quiet in our bungalow (the Gecko) and this cottage even has its own private yard. The Inn has a storybook flair to it and you feel like you are part of the book. The grounds are beautifully kept and the landscaping allows for privacy between units.

The property is within walking distance to two hiking trails and I recommend you try both of them. It was nice to have the kitchen and dining area; we ended up buying groceries the first night and saved money on eating out. They serve a tasty breakfast in the morning with options that should suit everyone.

We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Choose one of the stand along cottages if you can.

“Magical Place, very cool, staff...meh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

We 3 girlfriends stayed in "Raven" for 2 nights. The cottage was heaven. There is a nice kitchen with fridge, stove & microwave. The 2 rooms were cute and clean. Beds super comfortable. One room had the kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with a tub. The other room, where I stayed, had two full beds and a bathroom with shower and pedistal sink. We had a quaint "family room" with a TV and couch and chair.
There was a porch with teak chairs and electric candles. It's super quiet and you feel like you're not even running into the other guests. The free breakfast has hard boiled eggs, Fage yogurt, granola, oatmeal, fruit and baked goods. The coffee is great and there is tea & juice. If you get the Raven, you'll feel pretty well taken care of. You can shop nearby at the Rainbow Bridge and pick up some other goodies if you want for snacks.
The front desk attendant seemed young and uninterested in explaining much or welcoming us. Whatever. We still LOVED the place for the time we stayed and would love to stay there again.

Room Tip: If you are arriving early, better call ahead to see if they can clean your room first.

“Nice place but rooms vary quite a bit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

A good choice in Ojai. Very relaxed vibe, staff quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but served outdoors so the experience is weather dependent. Our room (Tadpole) was not that wonderful; dark despite the skylights and very little soundproofing. You could hear every move in the bathroom next door.

“Supreme”

An absolutely terrific stay. From the calling ahead to see if the room was ready early(and it was). Jade and the rest of the staff were incredibly accomodating.
The grounds are serene and well done. The room was an incredible experience! So quiet.
DEFINTELY enjoy the wonderful breakfast by the pool...........and call Dutch if you need a taxi anywhere.........
Can not wait to return

“A fabulous get away in Ojai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

The Emerald Iguana Inn is a wonderful, relaxing, peaceful refuge in Ojai. We have stayed here before, but this was a perfect place to rest and recoup. We stayed in Feather; the fireplace put out all the heat we needed during a chilly and rainy stay, and the coffee service in the room was perfect. It was too wet and chilly to sit on the patio, but we will happily come back and use the space another time. We had intended to have an anniversary dinner at Suzanne's, but they were closed on Tuesdays! The office staff made several suggestions and we tried Feast Bistro, which may be our new favorite restaurant in Ojai. The renovations are ongoing, but even though there was construction during our entire three-day stay, there was no noise, and we never felt as though we were imposed upon by the workers. A great spot to rest and renew! Fabulous!

Room Tip: We liked the private patio attached to Feather.
