You don't go to Ojai to save money, of course, so you may not have to worry about the high prices at Farmer & Cook. Everything costs more because it is all "organic"—supposedly, I don't know. My veggie burger was healthy, but tasteless: not an unusual combination. I would have used some ketchup on it, but I didn't discover a bottle of the "organic" variety sitting on a shelf in an anteroom. The very expensive coffee smoothie was made with coconut milk, a banana and I am not sure what else. I had a great urge to mix in a teaspoonful of sugar, but I couldn't find any. It's a cutesy little place, and I bet the tofu-scarfing locals just love it. One advantage is it is in Meiner's Oaks, a nice residential area, and there are some authentic Mexican restaurants on the main drag there if you want to fill up after have eaten at Farmer & Cook.
