Was not overwhelmed by this restaurant. We had dinner and the menu changes at 5 which we didn't notice when looking at the website. The lunch menu seemed much better (the one we saw online and the reason we decided to go there). Supposed to be farm to table but the figs (which are in season now) on our flatbread were dried.

They have a veggie burger that is so addictive I had it three days in a row. Ridiculously delicious food, cute country-store charm and lovely service. GO!

A sandwich, a burrito, and guacamole with warm chips - that's what we ate. Fantastically fresh and flavorful! Plus, everything is re-useable, recycleable or compostable - my kinda place!

Much like Santa Cruse, Ojai has a back to nature, back to the 60's-70's vibe. Lots of farm to table places, alternative energy health options and a back to the outdoors culture. Farmer & Cook provides a comfortable if less than polished setting to chill out and enjoy what's happening in Ojai.
Everything is sourced from local farms both in the restaurant and the little store adjoining. The food is fresh and tasty. I am not a vegetarian and ofter find the food bland and unappealing but I was pleased with the quality and flavors. Don't let the roughness around the edges in the decor get to you. If you want to experience the true Ojai vibe this is the place to go.
