“So fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Inside this historically significant building, people crowd in for conversation, comfort food, and great service. The breakfasts are hearty and the Sonoma yogurt out of this world. Biscuits are homemade and heart shaped. Love the screen door and town history. Make sure you have navigation device. We missed the turnoff the first go round.

Perfect for lunch --with extensive menu and yummy drinks. There is an outside deck for service and large dining area --all super casual.

“Destination Breakfast Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Howard's is one of those places that is reminiscent of a place you might see on "Diners, Driver-Ins and Dives". They put out a first rate breakfast and almost everything is homemade on the premises. I had eggs benedict made with smoked salmon ($13.25) - they smoke their own of course. I had carrot juice with ginger - also made fresh on the premises. They have any kind of juice or smoothie imaginable - quite a flair for creativity I might add.

After we left Occidental, we went to San Francisco and had breakfast at the infamous "Mama's". Howard's competes favorably at a cheaper price and no line! Edward's is not to be missed if you are in the area. Oh yes, they accept cash only - No credit cards. I am including a link to their complete menu.

“Shhh... don't tell anyone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

The secret's already out, more's the pity, because it means that you have to arrive early to beat the weekend brunch crowds. Insider's tip: go for breakfast (not brunch) on a weekday. Massive portions, delicious Benedicts and waffles, and a great location with off-street parking and many quaint shops within an easy stroll. Howard's puts Occidental on the map of any breakfast lover.

“Great spot for breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Whether you're camping nearby or passing through on the way up the coast, this is a great place to stop for a bit of breakfast. Menu is full of healthy and not-so-healthy options. I decided to go with the corned beef hash.

The has was pretty good, and the eggs were cooked perfectly (most places don't get sunny side up quite right). The "heart-shaped" biscuit was also quite good. Will have to try one of the Benedicts next time. Another big thumbs up for the service too. Quick and very friendly.
