I agree with reviewers who felt this is a good, basic hotel for a short stay. Nothing fancy. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff I dealt with were terrific: polite, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was the usual hot waffle and carb buffett. Free airport shuttle, wi-fi and parking. I don't agree with the reviewers that expressed concern about the neighborhood. No undesirables in the area when I was there. The hotel was surrounded by airport hotels on one side and an industrial park on the other side. Walked around at night and didn't see a soul.
The negatives: The beds are hard - not just "firm" but hard. The rooms have little sound proofing and there was a lot of traffic noise from the nearby freeway. And the motorcycles pulling out in the early am didn't help much. The ancient a/c unit also made a lot of noise turning on and off during the night. We stayed here because we were visiting our daughter in Berkeley, when even the Super 8 was almost $200 a night because of a special event. It wasn't convenient to Berkeley so we will probably not be returning. But if you're a sound sleeper who likes firm mattresses, this is a good, relatively affordable option for a night or two.
