This is a basic overnight stay hotel near the airport and close proximity to Oracle Arena and McAfee Coliseum. I saw a number of airline personnel staying there.
My non-smoking single queen bedroom was neat and clean upon entrance. The A/C was in good working order, microwave, a refrigerator that actually worked, and coffee maker which were located next to bathroom sink and clothes rack. Maximum use of limited space. Shower bathtub and toilet was in separate room from the sink, and was clean with adjustable massage shower head. Toilet didn't flush properly unless you held the flushing handle down until it drained. Didn't bother to inform the hotel about this. Also had hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
The breakfast was better than other similar hotels in this price range with fresh fruit, juices, coffee/tea, waffle maker, bread, instant oatmeal, muffins, cereals, and cheese egg omelettes. An attendant was helpful, kept everything food items stocked, and clean.
Quality Inn is located among a cluster of similar hotels in an industrial area with a Walmart and many restaurants close-by including an In-N-Out. They are within walking distance but it is safer to drive, especially at night. There are either homeless or panhandlers hanging nearby the gas and convenient stores and will walk up to you seeking money. These stores open all night, but the doors are locked and the clerks inside get what you want through a security window. The hotel has a uniformed but unarmed security guard that patrols the parking lot at night.
They do have a pool and jacuzzi, included wireless access for your laptop, but you have to pay for internet time in the breakfast dining area, but they do allow free access to print your boarding pass.
Personnel was attentive and I required very little from them. Overall positive stay, except you won't feel safe after dark. The main reason to stay at this hotel is that it is inexpensive and close proximity to the airport, about a ten minute drive. I wouldn't stay here as a launching point to visit Oakland and the Bay Area.
