Was here for a conference recently. The staff was friendly. Breakfast at hotel restaurant was $28 for eggs, bacon, and tea. Currently there is one elevator not functioning. On busy mornings we had to wait more than 10 minutes to get on, then had to stop on most every floor on the way down. Proximity to BART, restaurants and bars is good. At night there were hotel staff manning every door, presumably because of previous problems with riff raff.

The hotel is located in the heart of Oakland. It is quite pricey compared to its more affordable counterpart Marriott courtyard which is just a stone throw's away from here. Rooms are quite small.
But the staff are quite good. They are helpful and easily give you what you need.

The rooms are nicely decorated and the views are fantastic. The meeting areas have nice seating areas outside the meeting rooms which foster networking. I particularly liked the large comfortable upholstered chairs withe the swivel table. The table made it easy to have a drink and sit back and relax.

The hotel staff were outstanding, in particular the Bell Service when dealing with bags or getting a taxi.

You literally walk out the front door to the BART Station. This was the easiest was the easiest and cheapest way to either Oakland or SFO. There is and elevator so you don't have to tackle the escalator with bags.

I've stayed here a couple of times due to the proximity and it's always pretty consistent. The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is downtown Oakland, so in terms of scenery, it can be quite eclectic. That being said, it's right next to a BART station, so the location is great in terms of ease of access. The rooms are small but if you have ever stayed in a hotel in San Francisco, you would think these are suites. No complaints. Would definitely stay here again if I needed to, but wouldn't go out of my way. Food is slightly better than decent. Bar is good. In terms of price, drinks and food are overpriced but that's pretty standard.
