“Best bang for your buck!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I was pleasantly surprised with our recent stay at Bay Breeze Inn. We stayed there one night as we visited Oakland for a quick trip to see Supercross at the Coliseum. The hotel is a five minute drive, if that, from the coliseum which was so nice. It is right off of the freeway which was another bonus. We ended up arriving 3 1/2 hours before check in time and they not only let us check in that early but upgraded us for free (as that was one of the only rooms available at the time).

They do a good job of making you feel secure as well. They have a ton of security cameras all over the premises with signs identifying them loudly. They also have the lots surrounded by automatic locked gates. The area isn't that great but its rare for me to get a warm and fuzzy feeling in Oakland to be honest.

The room was very nice, with both a microwave and mini fridge (most budget hotels don't have those I noticed!). My plumber boyfriend noted that the fixtures in both the shower and sink were new and not low grade. The air conditioner and heater worked great and the bed was fairly comfy. The room was very clean and tidy as well.

The only downfall was the lack of pillows. We each only got one which wasn't very comfortable. There were some fairly loud guests that were pretty rowdy all night too but nothing too extreme. Thanks to those two factors I didn't get much sleep but all in all our stay was very nice and we were very impressed with the facility.

good room, house keeping didn't refill soaps and towels, didn't clean the room very well, like other hotels i've been to. overall you get what you pay for. The hotel is okay, located in bad area of town.

So the neighborhood definitely isn't great, you're going to see that in other reviews and it's definitely the case. It's an industrial neighborhood, the only reason I can imagine being there is it's proximity to the stadium. And it is close, us and our 12 pack of beers walked it from the Bay Breeze Inn and it was definitely doable.
The rooms, as mentioned, were a surprise in that they appeared newly renovated. I wish I had taken a picture of the shower because the tile work in there was impressive! As was the fridge and microwave.
So yes, the neighborhood (and some occupants) might scare off some but for the value and distance to stadium I'd definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: The front desk let us check in early on game day so we could get to the game in time to drink heavil...

And the prices are affordable I love that it has a self laundry to wash that is always helpful. The area is quiet so if your a light sleeper this would be a great place for you. my overall experience has been very pleasant

Great people, very clean. Close to a lot of attractions. I came from Sutter Hotel a day was so grossed out, so when I got here, I was so happy a day at ease that I would be staying in a safe clear place.

Room Tip: Close to a lot of attractions
