This is my favorite Chinatown On the whole west side of the country. If you visit you have to explore all of the markets and stop for dim sum
Been around CHina town in different cities, this wanst the best in my opinion, could just be us.......
You found everything that is n San Fran's Chinatown but in a smaller area to walk in and less hectic. That made it much more accessible. Knowing Chinese would have made it easier with the vendors as many don't speak English. Authentic.
Can be crowded on week-ends. Noisy, not too clean. Lots of places to shop for fresh vegetables. Walk the block to get the best prices and freshness of the various fruits/vegetables.
Not real large and most businesses closed by 5pm. Had a good lunch at a Vietnamese resturant. Close by downtown hotels and the BART station.
