“A Five Star Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I've been a regular at Lin Jia since Day One and keep coming back for the hospitality and consistently great food. Owner Marcia Lam insists on serving the quality foods she ate growing up and that means grass-fed beef, free range chicken and mostly organic produce.

My personal favorite is the Hot and Sour Soup which is distinguished by the contrasts in flavors AND the contrasts in textures - the crunchy vegetables side by side with the creamiest of tofu. If you want a real treat, sit at the counter and watch the chefs working the intensely hot woks in preparation for the final plating. Every dish looks every bit as good as it tastes.

“A neighborhood gem.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Since Lin Jia opened, I have been a frequent diner.
This is a homey, happy, welcoming restaurant.
The food is fresh, pretty, delicious, healthy. Should
you want to plan a special menu in advance, speak
with Marcia.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, for
lunch and for dinner. Beers and wines are available.
The menu changes a bit from time to time; but,
dependable offerings remain constant. The
shrimp and mussels dish is a favorite of mine.
C&C Soup (chicken and corn) could not be
better. Much to like here!

“Perfectly Tasty Chinese Near Lake Merritt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

It may have taken awhile for Lin Jia to catch on, but I'm pretty sure that that time has arrived. The past few times I've been in, tables have been full, people are drinking wine and beer, laughing, eating, and generally having a nice time and enjoying very well made food.

Favorites include:
1) Angry Bird - spicy fried chicken, house made pickled carrots.
2) Hunan Fried Noodles - rolled and fried noodles and veggies
3) Hakka Vegetables - crisp, lighter dish; just the right amount of soy

Definitely check it out. Great for take-out too!

“SUPERB SUPERB!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a real insider tiny corner restaurant in Oakland. Our Walking Ladies group found it and we
like to go there for lunch. We take a hike down Trestle Glen, eat and return. By then, of course
we could go back for seconds. Fantastic organicly processed fresh vegetables and the best of meats are served at this restaurant. It is airy, open and very well frequented. Parking is OK, a little busy at times, but you can find a place on the street. Service is friendly and helpful.
We tend to order and share three ways, which makes it really exciting, because we have a chance to try almost everything on their menu. When they say spicy HOT, they mean it....ask
for help and you will be helped! Don't tell too many people, we like to know we know a
secret place to eat!

“Absolutely Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We went to this place based on a recommendation from a friend and it was excellent! The food is extremely fresh and better than any other Asian food I've had previously. The service is great. It's a very causal place with a comfortable atmosphere. Go hungry!!
