it just down the street from my youngest school, so we always stop to eat. Nothing fancy just good quality and fullfilling

“Worth the ride to Oakland!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

LOVE LOVE LOVE the ice cream! Some would say 'eh, its ice cream, how special can it be?!' but I dare them to say that after visiting this place! Not only the ice cream is delicious, but their dinner food as well! Went with a group and split an appetizer and salad (to balance out the ginormous sundaes.) Needless to say, we walked out of there with sticky faces, satisfied appetites and tighter fitting pants!

“Ice Cream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Fentons is a hold out from a long time ago. It is history and good food. The building has been renovated but the food and service is traditional and great. It is rare to find young people who can listen to your order and bring exactly what you requested! The good ones work here.

“Fenton's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Great food and selection. Great choices for the Ice Cream ! Prices are on the high side for sure but people are paying because the place keeps really busy. Parking can be really bad though !

“THE Ice Cream Capital”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Fenton's has been an institution for years, and was even featured in a cameo at the end of the Pixar movie, "Up". The actual restaurant serves good food and in heaping quantities. Don't plan to eat there AND then have ice cream. You won't make it. The ice cream dishes are out of this world and HUGE. I have attached a picture of their Black And Tan Sundae.....you'll see what I mean. It is vanilla and toasted almond ice cream, heaped with hot fudge and caramel sauces, and, of course, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. They will also happily substitute any of their ice cream flavors should you not prefer vanilla or toasted almond. This is an old fashioned ice cream parlor that is worth the trip and the wait.
