We loved our recent visit to Chabot Space and Science Center. They have alot of interactive hands on activities for kids and adults. Loved the outdoor view. We also visited at night with our cub scout group and learned so much with the great teachers there.
friday night you can go for free to see the wonders of the night sky through the giant telescopes or the amateur scopes people bring. Some guys even have special filters to see the contours of the full moon. Awesome date spot!!
Directions off of Hiway 13 well marked. Parking ample and within easy walking distance of the main building. Everyone was friendly. Lots of clean bathrooms. Great place for young kids in view of the number of "hands on" exhibits and lot of things to do with children. For adults the astronomical telescopes located in three seperate domes are guite impressive. "Walter" gave us a great tour of the telescopes and we were able to view Venus. Allow at least several hours to tour the buildings - especially with children who are allowed to "touch, handle and feel" most of the exhibits. Great for a family outing.
Great place for a day of exploring. Wonderful place for kids. They even do birthday parties & sleepovers for large groups. My kids enjoyed this place a number of times over the last few years. They movies are interesting & are changed pretty often. Great place for a school field trip!
Very informative, fun for kids. Go in the evenings when you can look through the telescopes. Good price for everything they offer, but we became bored and were disappointed to not be able to use the telescopes.
