When you first arrive at this motel, you will think, wow, what a setting and the registration lobby is beautiful but it went downhill (actually literally up a long hill) after that. The motel is set into the side of a hlll and the views from the rooms balconies are very nice. It is a steep climb up to the rooms from the registration desk and from restaurant so if you aren't up to that you will have to drive back and forth. Our room was pretty much at the top of the hill and my mom is handicapped so she couldn't really explore. The beds were comfortable, there was a beautiful hand-painted mural on the wall, and the wi-fi worked fine but those were about the only plusses. The carpeting was filthy. We got in at supper time so unloaded our luggage quickly and went to supper. When we came back we were pretty tired from our travels and went straight to bed. Unfortunately, we forgot to check to see if the towels and other amenities were stocked before we went to sleep. We got up the next morning and we only had 1 bath towel for 3 people. Also, there was no shampoo and conditioner. I called down to the desk at 7 a.m. and the operator said that there was no one to bring up towels or anything else and we would have to drive down to the office to pick some up...so one of us had to get dressed and go down there...apparently housekeeping doesn't come in until late. We also had no regular coffee stocked in the room and had to ask for that as well. Our guess is that the room had not been serviced in quite a while. The walls were pretty thin, we could hear our neighbors' TV, talking, and moving around. The shower head in our room was for someone over 6 feet tall and could not be adjusted It sprayed only to the back of the bath tub so you had to stand back there to shower. The spray was so hard that water was forced out the back of the shower curtain and the bathroom floor was soaked. The balconies are not private just open covered porches connecting all the rooms. When we checked out we received no 'Thank You' or 'Hope you enjoyed your stay'...we were not mean to anyone inspite of the lack of service (that is just not our way) so I was surprised. The man that checked us in was polite but the woman who checked us out couldn't have cared less.
