“Nicely Laid out grounds and rooms.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Beautifully designed grounds and use of the site. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were large quiet and the beds were comfortable. The lobby was very impressive. We don't stay at many Best Westerns, but this one is exceptional. Nice people at the desk. A good buy.

We stayed as a family of four in September. The room was adequate without being outstanding and the location is fine. The Reception was very helpful and we decided to go with Discover Yosemite tour rather than drive and it was excellent. The onsite restaurant was average and we used the Ol kettle Restaurant up the street for breakfast which was excellent. The rooms are reasonable spacewise and clean but i think better value for our dollar elsewhere.

Room Tip: We were at the very top of the site and its quiet but a drag to walk up after breakfast.

I am in Oakhurst, CA on business and unfortunately there are limited options that are reasonably priced with wifi capable of supporting access to my remote server. Stayed here last week and was disappointed. Sadly, because of the Internet situation, I had to come back. And I am horrified. Was sold on a room the front desk person told me was larger than average. Turns out the room is larger than average because it is a basement, complete with small windows at the top of the walls with ivy about to creep in. Once I turned on the fluorescent ceiling lights, the stains in the carpets and on the upholstery became glaringly obvious. I am completely disgusted and although the front desk was nice about it, they have been unable to remedy the situation by switching rooms or in any other way. I am trapped here by circumstances and the only thing I could think to do was warn people booking here to make sure that you are not staying in Room 100 or to check when booking that you are not being stuck in the basement. Because they sure wont offer you that information on their own.

I would recomend this hotel. The property is very well kept and extremely clean. Very pleasant stay. The parking is a little cramped. Breakfast is in a separate building, that was nice. The grounds are very well kept and the staff was friendly and helpful.

After a long day of travel we were looking forward to a good night's rest. The hotel looked very nice from the outside, the lobby was great. Unfortunately, our room smelled of rotten food, the refrigerator was loose in the cabinet and its plastic lining was broken. Everything in the room looked like it had been well-used and should have been replaced years ago. We woke up to find ants crawling out of the wall and over the counter. On the plus side, the pool and hot tub were good.

We stayed here 3 nights so we could visit Yosemite. It was about an hours drive to the village, but it was a really pleasant drive and we didn't find it a problem. The hotel itself has quite quirky décor, and some might find it a bit overbearing, but it adds to the character of the place. Our room was lovely, very big and comfy and with great access to the pool. We ate in the restaurant each night and thought it had a good choice, was good value and the food was really nice, The buffet breakfast is not quite as nice, but guests still have the option to pay from the menu at later times, and for a free meal it was perfectly acceptable. The little bar was also a nice place to go after dinner, but we found it quite odd that it closed at 9pm like the restaurant. The staff in the restaurant and bar were excellent.

I was not actually staying here for Yosemite, instead I was in Oakhurst on business. While my stay was not during the peak summer visiting season, I found this to be a pricey hotel for what you get. The carpets were stained with traffic patterns, but other than that the room was clean. Surprising they could not keep carpets clean. I paid well over $130 per night which included a pretty nice breakfast buffet. Make sure you stay on the top floor as I heard several people complaining about noise. There are several buildings that make up the hotel, and all rooms open to the outdoors, so if security is an issue, bring your door stop and jam the door. A bus load of travelers arrived on one evening and they clogged the entire parking lot, not bothering to move for other guests. This is not the hotel's fault of course, but be prepared as they also clogged the dining process. Internet access was superb and included. The folks were very nice on staff and looking at the other choices of hotels, this may be your best choice in Oakhurst. The overall experience is average, especially considering the high price.

Room Tip: Choose a top floor room.
