“Great place”

I thought it was a great place near Yosemite. The breakfast was more than adequate and let us get fueled up for our day in Yosemite. The room was clean, towels fresh and generally accommodations were very good. I would recommend this place as a great jumping off point to Yosemite. It does allow you to get to Mariposa Grove early enough to avoid having to use the shuttle service and being able to park at the trailhead is a definite plus.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 children. It was upwards of 90° when we arrived, the kids were excited to swim until we checked in and saw the sign that the pool was closed. Never was it disclosed their pool wasn't working, not on the website, confirmation email or the 2 times I called. 3 kids in 90° weather & no promised pool..awesome. that was just the first 5 minutes. While unloading the car the woman brought our cot and noted that there was already a cot in the room but we can just keep both...we have 5 people in a room, we don't need extra furniture thank you. We had to wheel the extra cot into the hall ourselves.
The room...the stains on the floor were so gross, fresh & questionable that the only thing we could do was wear shoes when we were in the room and yell at the children if they dared to touch it. Again with little kids that's not exactly how I planned to spend the weekend. The interesting part is that the dining area floor was cleaner than our room. The beds were really hard and the springs in the cot poked my daughter...only 2 more nights I told her. The pillows were really flat and had a hint of smoke. Like they pulled a pillow out of a smoking room and put it in our nonsmoking room...it was horrible and made my sons asthma kick up.
The continental breakfast was pretty sad, bread, some cold cereals, juice, coffee, danishes & waffles. The kids were sooo tired of waffles by the end of our stay. Oh I forgot, they also had apples...not assorted fruit, just apples.
All in all it was a horrible stay, next time I will spend the extra money to not be so grossed out but at $170 a night I didn't expect such a dump. The only good part about having such a gross room was we tried to be gone enjoying Yosemite for the entire day, from dusk till dawn. My husband & I actually got up early on the last day to pack up and get out, the less time I'm the room the better. Checkout was 11, we left with 3 kids by 7!

We should have either left the premises or asked for another room. The door was so warped that you could see into the hallway. We put the ironing board in front of the gap in the door. The carpets were filthy. There was an overflowing garbage can in front of the entrance way that was never emptied. At the end of three days there was garbage all over the area. The included breakfast was a joke. There was no protein mostly bread, wheat products and sweet rolls. The exact kind of breakfast that is making America obese. We ate at Denny's for breakfast. There was virtually no sound proofing between rooms. We could hear our next door neighbors conversation very clearly. The people upstairs foot falls were very annoying. We will never stay at this establishment again.

We stayed here two nights and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and seems to have been recently renovated with new furniture and bathroom. As others noted there were some holes in the walls from old fixtures that haven't been filled or painted but that wasn't a problem as the walls were clean, as was everything else except as noted below. Morning breakfast was OK with toast, juice, waffles, pastries, etc. but the breakfast area is small. The second morning it was so crowded we opted for Denny's instead. The only thing I fault this motel on is the dirty carpet in the room. Either it hasn't been cleaned recently or the carpet cleaner is using a shampoo that leaves a residue. It is time for a deep hot-water-extraction cleaning. We would stay here again--but bring slippers.

The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking. It is right at the start of town and easy to get to local businesses. The rooms are large and the decor is average. Nothing special here. The maintenance is a bit shabby. Hard water spots in the shower all over the fixtures. A few small holes in the walls from previous fixtures that were never filled and a big burn mark in the carpet from some previous guest leaving an iron on the floor were noticeable. The Wi-fi was blazing fast, however the hotel was mostly empty, so I do not know how it does when the place is full. There are some faded notices and other items posted around that do not look professional taped on some of the doors. There is no business center on site so don't expect to be able to print documents here, but they did refer me to a place in town so I could handle some work stuff while here. Not as nice as other properties in the area but cheaper. You are not getting the Southgate hotel, but you are not paying those prices either. If you just need a decent room and a good price this place will fill the bill.

Room Tip: The side away from highway is much quieter

This is one of the nicest motels I have stayed in. The people are very friendly. Everything was clean and in good working order. The beds were comfortable and the free breakfast had a good variety and was tasty. What more could you want for the price?

We booked a room for 5 people where there was supposed to be a sofa bed. The sofa bed couldn't be opened up as a bed because broken and you couldn't even sleep on top of it because it was missing the net underneath. The room was not that clean and quite smelly. Not to mention the awful customer service: the receptionist was not helping at all. The only good thing about is that is very close to the park.
