Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Yosmite National Park. Before booking here you should know that the hotel is approximately 40minutes drive to the South Entrance of Yosemite. Once at the entrance, be prepared to drive for another 40mins to the Yosmite Valley and Visitor Centre. If you cant bear the driving, I would not suggest staying here on anywhere in Oakhurst, rather you should stay in the hotels within the park but be prepared to pay a lot more. That said, if you hav never been to YNP before, the daily drive provdes beautiful views and scenery and gives you a chance to spot for bears (we saw one on the driv in) The rooms are fairly clean if dated and could do with a few licks of paint. The rooms have N iron, microwave and decent sized fridge. The beds were comfortable if slightly on the firm side. But the bedding was very warm and comfortable. One of the lams in the room did not have a bulb but there was enough other lighting to make up for it. The bathroom is a nice size and shampoo, body lotion and conditioner are provided and replenished daily. Free wifi is provided but unless you have a room next to or near the reception, you will not benefit from it at all as the signal completely cuts off around 100 yards from the reception area. The local area is safe but very quiet, Oakhurst is a small quiet town! However there is a Raleys supermarket, Macdonalds and many other food establishments and amenities fairly nearby and within walking distance. The hotel is located on the edge of the town and is the last building before the highway. Noise wasnt an issue and the breakfast was decent; fresh waffles on request, cereals, toast and jams, juics and tea and coffee (although hot tea and coffee may need to be requested if the hot water has cooled down) the staff are friendly and helpful and free parking is provided. Good value, but only stay here if you are looking to sleep and be out all day. If you want a hotel to spend time during the day, Id stay somewher else.
