“Put off Mexican food for life!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

Having never eaten Mexican food in the US before, we were looking forward to it. We arrived in the early evening after a long hot day in Yosemite Valley. And had to be moved straight away because the air con was so cold in the corner of the room we had been given. Mistake...we were shown to a table in a larger but predominantly empty room with transport cafe decor and plastic chairs.
Having enquired about the meaning of the dishes, we duly ordered and looked forward to our meals.
When they arrived, we were shocked......my burrito, whilst cooked well was smothered in a grey slop like sauce and topped with much too much cheese. It turned out to be refried beans!! My wife and friends were equally unimpressed by their choices. We ate a small amount and left, vowing to not eat Mexican again...the waitress did her best...but she lacked any personality, just like the restaurant.

“Average taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Good price, quantity and selection, but food was kind of average. Very watery salsa; rice was "instant" and somewhat bland. Had a chimichunga which was okay, but not made "quite right." Table was tacky-sticky. Loud room (a child's BD party going on) and crowded. Three rooms all full. This on a Tuesday night. Might be the most popular Mexican place on the one-road strip, though we saw many other smaller Mexican places. No big deal, but a satisfying, filling meal.

“Order the homemade sauce”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

We went for lunch and had to wait for about 10 minutes before we saw the waitress. Busboy did bring chips and salsa right away. Thought it was a little overpriced. $12.50 for a combo plate, Taco, Rellano and enchilada w/rice and beans. Food was bland but adding the homemade hot sauce made it much better. Loved watching the birdfeeder.
