“Not just Cajun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

Went to a business lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. I had been told that all they served was Cajun style food. Don't believe everything you hear! The food was excellent, great flavor but not too spicy or overwhelming This little gem is a bit hard to find but very much worth the search. Turn right at the Von's gas station, just up the road on the right.

“Affordable fine dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Cozy ATMOSPHERE: small room, dim on Saturday night with candle on table, masks, trumpet, saxophone on wall, quiet enough to chat.

Distinctive MENU, not very long, but with enough variety (sausage, pork, chicken, seafood...) and creativity to tantalize all five of us.

The BAGUETTE slices were lightly crunchy and hot.

The SHRIMP & CRAWFISH SOUP of the day was thick and tasty, not too salty but just right.

My RED BEANS AND RICE WITH ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE had boring plain white rice, basic mild red beans (partly mushed, fine with me) and very lightly spicy andouille sausage (not so special, but at least it wasn't too spicy), and the half I took home was perfect for breakfast on Sunday.

My hubby's BLACKENED CATFISH was perfect: cooked perfectly, so spicy it set my mouth on fire until I had a bite of my own plain mild beans and rice. His risotto was creamy, cheesy, tasty.

WINE LIST allowed those who wanted a glass of wine to have choices of good ones.

A local friend recommended this place for us visitors to treat others and it was perfect, affordable yet refined.

“A decent alternative in Oakhurst.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Not a lot of choices in this little town. Shrimp and grits were particularly good. The decor leaves a lot to be desired.

“Just Dandy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Authentic Creole cuisine served by friendly folks in a down to earth fashion. The Crawfish balls are awesome as are the fried pickles. There are only about a dozen wine choices but they are good and the pours are generous. You will have a great time.
