“Right on the Surf!”

We ate dinner at the Beachcomber and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent and the view is fantastic. We bought a bottle of NZ white and drank it through a seafood dinner. The restaurant is a bit difficult to navigate to as there is no parking. We eventually figured out that we needed to park in the State Park parking lot and take a shuttle which runs every few minutes. It costs a $1 per person. On the way back, we just walked - 5 minutes. Easy. I highly recommend this place.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Want your hamburger with a fabulous view of the Pacific? This is the place. The burger is wonderful but it's huge! You can definitely share! The fries are to die for. But, seriously, it's the location. In the Crystal Cove State Park. You park in the car park across Pacific Coast Highway, take the complimentary bus to the park. Walk down to the beach, put your name on the list and wait. Trust me, the wait is well worth it! Seriously, you can't get a better burger and fries or a better location, right smack dab on the beach! After you've pigged out on the meal, catch the bus back to the car park and be sure to take your receipt from the restaurant so you can avoid paying for parking. You'll thank me once you eat here.

“HATE TO BE REPEATITIVE, BUT...”

Trying to come up with something new about The Beachcombrr Cafe isn't easy since previous reviewers have nailed it: fun, iconic, friendly, tasty, isolated...overall very good. Great place to take people who want a hint of what CA beach life was like "back then".

“Perfect picnic w/out all the hassle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013 via mobile

Great food, good atmosphere. Expect a long wait here, although You can make reservations or check-in then hang at the beach until your table is ready. Our wait on a Friday afternoon was 2hrs. The beach is great tho, and there are hiking trails around there as well. Remember to save your receipt, it acts as a parking validation and will save you the 15$ daily parking fee.

“Best beachside dining in Newport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Summary: amazing location, excellent food, & friendly staff

Went there this morning for breakfast with some out of town guests. Made reservations the night before with Open Table, highly recommend this, and had no wait and a great corner view seat.

Our server, Jon, was very friendly, especially for it being 8am. Fast courteous service with a smile. Even the buser, Oscar, was very friendly and talkative. Amazingly he's been with the company for 25 years, wow!!

With the amazing location we didn't really expect much in the way of food. Figured plain, run of the mill, touristy food...but NO it was very fresh and tasty. Our table had the French Toast, Crystal Cove omelet, traditional Benedict, and Macadamia nut pancakes. Everyone at the table loved their meal & was happy to share and try each because all was so tasty. Not only were we wrong about the food; but the prices too. Amazingly affordable when you account for the location, atmosphere, & quality of food.

Definitely the Beachcomber is a place that is highly recommended & can't wait till guests come again so we have an excuse to go back.
