Hotel extremely clean, but empty of people. Felt like we were the only guests even though parking lot full. Close to financial district, but far (have to drive and fight traffic) from beach and tourist attractions. Free shuttle to beach area would have been nice.

Forty years ago I used a major Hilton hotel. When the bill came it had a $5.00 "communications charge".
When questioned, the manager said "that is for the phone in your room". I have not patronized Hilton since, even though customer pressure late forced them to discontinue that abusive practice.
A recent stay at the Radisson in Newport Beach was in the same class. When the bill came, there was a $6.00 "Facility Fee-flat" (no explanation as to what "facility" I was "renting") and a $5.00 charge for "water". And, yes, there was a nondescript bottle of "supermarket" water in the room without any notice that it was "For Sale".
Radisson is now on the list with Hilton.
It is a mystery to me why any "upscale" operation such as Radisson would stoop to such seedy and offense practices when simply "upping" the original quoted price would have avoided the offense.
Color me a person who will avoid Radisson in the future.

This hotel is the perfect location for getting around Newport Beach. It is near enough to the airport, and is within minutes of the beach. Also, its proximity to several of the freeways made getting to LA and to San Diego very easy.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and I really appreciated the free parking, something that is becoming so rare! The rate was good and I will definitely be returning to this hotel.

We booked 5 nights at this 'Newport Beach' hotel on hotwire but had such a terrible experience we left after the first night.

PROS:
extremely close to airport (if that's your thing)
resort-ish meandering pool with palm trees
can tell friends you are staying in 'Newport Beach'
free parking and internet

CONS:
extremely close to airport (translation: can hear planes from 6:30am-10:45pm, times given by hotel management)
uneven service (Allie and John were great, Brett was god awful with a terrible attitude and reeked of cigarettes)
loud wall unit a/c (in auxillary building, not in main building)

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone who needed a good night's sleep. If you need to stay here, I would most strongly recommend staying in the MAIN BUILDING, facing AWAY from the airport (looking upon the Staples parking lot) as these are the only rooms that have central A/C and a bearable buffer from the airport noise.

After calling earlier in the day who promised a king size bed for my wife and I, the person who checked us in rudely offered us two double beds. He seemed very put out to change our room to a king bed. In the room, the water pressure and temperature was very inconsistent. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be hot or cold and hard or soft. The beds were comfortable. On the plus side, the gentleman who checked us out was very kind and appropriate. When I stay at a hotel like the this, customer service and good water pressure in the shower should be top of the line.

Requested a king sized bed and when we checked in all they had was double beds. They weren't able to do anything for us and were not willing to even give us free breakfast vouchers, etc.

The hotel is near the airport...in fact so near that you can see the runway and hear/feel the plane noise especially at 630am.

Upon waking up in the morning we figured a warm shower would make everything better. Nope. Shower pressure was super low and the water was cold. I've had better showers in Mexican hotels.

The price is good but don't expect much else.

No parking fee! Can I say it again?! No parking fee! So unusual when staying at a hotel like this one not to have a parking fee added to your bill!

Décor, similar to an Embassy Suites with rooms open to a center atrium. Rooms are clean and the bed is sooooo comfy.

Front desk friendly and helpful and very willing to give recommendations to surrounding area.

Lounge was restful and Nani the bartender provided great service

Portions were large for room service although a few missing ingredients were missing...no pepper, no sugar and creamer for coffee, one jam packet for bread, half syrup container for pancakes.

Housekeeping did an excellent job of cleaning our room and replacing our left out bathroom items on a towel, lined up in a precise manner.

This would be a great hotel for business, however we were on a couples retreat and enjoyed ourselves.

Location. Only downfall in my eyes. This location is closer to Irvine than Newport. Located right between UCI and John Wayne Airport. Great location for the airline crews...and you never hear a plane.

No complaints
