Spent 7 days here with my family, two adults and 3 children (2 boys 12 & 10 and one daughter age 8 ). We stood in a 2 bedroom villa. The villas are well appointed and decorated beautifully. You have use of a butler to take you to and from the main club house or villa pool. From our villa the pool was only about a 5 minute walk. Room service is offered as is in room cooking if requested. Maid service is done both in the day and turn down in the evening. I would suggest that everyday upon leaving to contact the maid service to request your room to be made up otherwise they might not come to later in the afternoon.
The resort is beautiful and the lay out works well. Check in for villa guests is at a different private entrance and all went well. Prior to arrival I requested an early check in and a room with a view. Unfortunately neither requests were met. Like all resorts this is only a request not a guarantee but our butler worked his magic and got us a room with a wonderful view (500 area works best in my opinion for the villas).
The resort amenities are superb. Two huge pools with private cabana's for rent daily. The Coliseum pool is located in the main resort and can be used by both villa and regular guests. The villa pool and cabana's are used exclusively for villa guests only. Neither pool ever seemed to be crowded and getting space or renting a cabana wasn't a problem either. The gym at the villa club house was also adequate and never too crowded.
We ate breakfast at the restaurant in the villa club house daily. They offer an a la carte menu or breakfast buffet. Lunch by the pools was also adequate and the drinks were very good. Service at the pools were also above expectation.
There are a number of other restaurants located at the main resort which were indeed very good. Andrea is considered an Italian restaurant and is decorated beautifully. Both the service and food were great. The Pelican Grill is located at the Pelican Hill Golf Club and offers a more casual environment with wonderful views. I strongly suggest making reservations a few days in advance for either.
In summary this resort exceeded our expectations in every way. Again you pay for what you get and in this case I didn't mind paying.
