We traveled to LA during Christmas and booked 5 nights at the Omni hotel downtown which was closer to everything we wanted to get to but after 3 nights, we decided to cancel the two remaining nights and stay at the Pelican hill resort. As soon as I stepped inside the lobby, I felt like I was home. We were greeted with smiles and were immediately asked if we needed assistance. I booked my stay through AMEX platinum and was immediately upgraded without hassle. After getting the room keys, we were immediately assisted to our room by the staff ( not just giving us the directions to our room but led to in a hotel vehicle)
We opened the door to the hotel room and headed straight to the outside to enjoy the ocean view room. I felt after being 4 days in LA that I was finally on my vacation.
The pool, breakfast and the service was all 5 star. During my stay, I pressed the I think hospitality button on the phone, rang 4 times and it was picked up by another person in another department apologizing that the person in hospitality was busy and asked if she could help. I was pretty amazed by that kind of service and would definitely recommend anyone who loves to be pampered to cough up the extra money to stay at the Pelican hill. You will not regret it.
