It is a very nice clean and trendy looking joint, just what you would expect from a W. Yet usually the W is hoppin'-- this place is not. There is literally nothing around, and you definitely need a car to get anywhere.

It has very large comfy rooms, bigger than almost any W I have been to. And of course the rooms are hip and modern and super comfy.

A HUGE plus at this hotel is the very very nice pool area. It is excellent! And beautiful, and the towels at the pool are so beyond comfortable it is amazing!!!

This hotel is the place to go for a great price at a beautiful hotel to hava relaxing time while visiting the Bay area IF you hava car. It is an opportunity for travelers who do not normally stay at W Hotels to have the opportunity to do so b/c of the price, as well as for typical W customers to hava relaxing and quieter stay.

The hotel room was nice and clean but the hotel was like a ghost town! It was empty the entire time we were there.

Upon check-in we were told that the restaurant and room service was closed on the weekends because of the economy. They did however offer to go get us food, should we need it.

When we returned to the hotel on Sunday night we thought it would be nice to go to the bar and get a drink and relax; however, no staff could be located. There wasn't anyone at the bar or even the front desk! I would not have been surprised if we saw a tumbleweed blow through. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to come out and give us service we gave up and went to the room.

The hotel staff was pleasant (when available) and the hotel was nice and clean, but empty and depressing.

The hotel was very quiet for a W. Not much going on and not much to do in the immediate area. W tried addressing the problem by stationing the Acura driving experience here. The car was intended to give guests a driving experience somewhere local, but I didn't see anyone utilize it once during my stay.

This hotel is not near anything. There is another hotel across the street, and a few business buildings, but aside from that, there was no view, no shopping, and no restaurants within walking distance.

That being said, if you are simply looking for a hotel with some style, this may be an excellent value. It certainly is not on par with the other W hotels in terms of trendiness and action, but it is 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. It's certainly more fun than the other chain hotels.

W hotels are meant to be trendy. Once the trendiness fades, you have a strangely decorated hotel that feels very dark and sleazy. Don't get me wrong, I love Ws but this one felt very run down and empty.
I checked in to my room and found someone else already occupying it. The reception desk immediately corrected the error but i made sure to lock my own door. The clean white duvet cover had a big red stain on it and I asked them to replace the duvet. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so I had to order breakfast there. A bowl of granola with yogurt cost me $30.The bathroom was nice though. Pool looked nice but the gym was very small. I love my starwood points but I checked out after a couple days.

HOTEL REVIEW # 167 W Silicon Valley

MY TRAVEL STYLE: If possible, I try to stay away from business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective reviews (by clicking on my name).

LOCATION: Not walking distance to a thing but if you have a car, a 5 minute drive will take you to strip malls everywhere with many excellent Asian restaurants.

TYPE OF ROOM: Upgraded suite.

BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Perfection. High quality linens, soft comforters, and perfect down pillows.

LIGHTING: Good lighting in room and bathroom.

BATHROOM/SHOWER: Shower is a bit small and the water nozzle is very strange and is a bit too large for the small sized shower. The water pressure is good and can be made hot with consistent temperature. Not a lot of space for toiletries on the sink.

TOILETRIES: Bliss toiletries are some of my favorites.

CLEANLINESS: Hotel is very clean but is lacking a few details like missing screws on shower doors, paint near the borders of the mirror, etc.

A/C: Could have been more quiet, but gets the room cool if desired.

CLOSET SPACE: Enough space for 2 to unpack most items.

STYLE OF ROOM: Huge. Separate desk area with kitchen, living room, and bathroom all in one room but far enough apart that it works.

COMMON AREA: Trendy & hip but not a lot of peeps hanging around as it’s definitely not a hang out place for non-guests (at least on a weekday).

QUIET/MORNING LIGHT: Room was always quiet and all morning light could be blocked with the shades.

FOOD: Never ate here.

TV/INTERNET: Didn’t watch TV but the TV is not a flatscreen which is weak for a ‘W’. Wired internet is available for a fee if it’s not included in your room package.

SERVICE: Staff was friendly and helpful.

SUMMARY: Probably one of the best places to stay in the area. The four seasons is probably a better choice but at twice the price it may not be worth it. If you don’t have a car you may prefer a different hotel but if you got wheels then this is the place to stay.
