“Warm and engaging home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

It was a flawless stay for 2 nights from start to finish. Inviting and close to town. The rooms were very soundproof and it was easy to get a good nights sleep. The owners have just the right touch.

Room Tip: May want to ask if they have one with the balcony or is it on the first floor in the front on the st...

I wanted a quiet comfortable room and got what I wanted. The owners were friendly and provided restaurant tips. The hotel is one block from the theater, where I saw an excellent production of Rosenkranz & Gildenstern are Dead. Bathroom was roomy. My room was a bit small, with no work table or desk-the only reason I did not give this an "Excellent."

Every year we head to the foothills from the Bay Area for summertime fun at the Yuba River and Nevada City. We love the Outside Inn but this year we were referred to the Broad Street Inn. What a wonderful place! The innkeepers were so incredibly nice and helpful. My kids loved their little dog, Dot. The outside patio was beautifully decorated and so peaceful. The rooms are also very nice and very clean. We stayed in the room next to the street and were afraid of noise during the night but the windows are well insulated and we slept soundly. I would most definitely recommend this fabulous hotel to all my family and friends.

Went up to Nevada City to get away from the city for a few days. I wanted a place that was comfortable, welcoming, distinct, and not part of a larger corporation (e.g. Holiday Inn). Enter Broad Street Inn - a lovely inn with six rooms that have their own distinct personalities AND a sun room filled with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate AND a lovely patio. I enjoyed space so much and the staff was extremely welcoming!

Room Tip: Just ask the staff - they give great recommendations about which room to pick!

I had a superb experience. The room was quiet and beautiful - not too much decor, simple and perfect for the period of the building. It felt like home. In town, but not noisy. The front porch and yard are nice to just sit outside. The back yard is private and gives you a way to be outside without being in a public space as well. Nice plantings. The Innkeepers were friendly and helpful. The calico and Dot, the cute dog, were charming. A quality experience all the way around. I love this place.

Room Tip: Honestly, I think each room is the best room. They are all unique and lovely.

The hosts were very friendly and had good suggestions for walks/runs and dining. The room was simple but very clean. The bed was comfortable. It is located right of the main street of Nevada City, so it was easy to walk to destinations in town. We definitely would return.

I can't wait to go back! I would recommend it to anyone looking for romance but kids would enjoy it too! Beautiful clean and quiet! Easy walking distance to shop and eat.
