“Great Sushi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Don't let the distance from the ocean deter you - Sushi Q is a fantastic sushi restaurant. Be sure to have a Maui Roll, a Spider Roll and/or a Pink Seattle - and ask about the specials (the ocean trout and Spanish mackeral are both fantastic if they have them). They also have an excellent selection of sake.

I've eaten at hundreds of US Japanese restaurants. This is among the top 10. Make sure you get a reservation.

“Happy accident”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

We tried to get in to Sushi in the Raw and found they only take reservations and the room only seats about ten at a time. We had heard sushi-q was pretty good. I would call that an understatement. The service was friendly, good suggestions, and the food was good portioned and Yum-E! Would go again

“Really Fun Night Out!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

This is our third week in the area and last night we chose Sushi Q after Sushi In The Raw could not get us in. Very cool place which was full and we had a table by the window. My husband and I shared the Chicken Tempura entree which was served with one of the best salads we have ever had at a Japanese restaurant. Very fresh, colorful and unique! Some salads that are served with the entrees in Japanese restaurants are almost inedible.

We loved the Chicken entree and the miso soup was served at the perfect temperature with lots of large pieces of tofu. We will definitely be back to this cool eatery located on Commercial St., Nevada City has some great places to dine, we have eaten out every night for three weeks here and will be back again next week before heading to Tahoe for the weekend. :)

“Not a big fan, but if I have to have sushi and can't get in at "the other sushi place in Nevada City"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

The food here has never knocked my socks off, good muscles good atmosphere, okay service. The rolls are your best bet here, sashimi or anything with just fish, no bueno. Some times the fish comes out almost frozen. The quality of the fish is not great here. The prices are a little lower, but I'd rather pay for good fish!
