This is not quirky, it's not "a little musty", it is falling down and decaying. It's a crime that such a beautiful, historical place is being allowed to degrade like this. The carpets are filthy and buckled, the ceilings and walls are leaking everywhere, what could be beautiful old chandeliers are missing multiple crystals, filthy, and have ugly flourescent bulbs crammed in them. Some of the exposed wiring is most likely not even to code. The walls are either covered in stained, cheap, heinous, falling down wallpaper, or, in the case of one upstairs hallway, some kind of raw, unfinished mdf. While there are some antiques, when combined with the cheapest no-tell-motel crap and a liberal coating of filth, the effect is wasted. I would love to see some bored millionaire take over this property and retore it as it deserves, because that's what it's going to take to save it. As it stands now, I would not board my dog here.
