“The Reviews are True!”

My boyfriend and I have had this hotel on our radar for the past year or two, and since it's often fully booked, we were happy to finally get a room on a recent weekend in Napa. It's a charming hotel that doesn't feel like a chain Best Western at all, and well worth staying at.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room, which was huge, with a walk-in closet, separate shower and tub, desk, and two armchairs. The mattress was comfortable, and wifi worked great in the room and in our lobby.

Service was great the whole time, including made-to-order sweet potato waffles for breakfast, and home-baked cookies in late afternoon. The lobby area is small (just a few tables, plus a couch and two armchairs in front of a fireplace), but nice to relax in, and we enjoyed having a glass of wine and playing a board game in the common area. We also stopped in to the hot tub, which is open until 11pm.

The location is a tiny bit far from downtown Napa. You could walk it, although we ended up asking the front desk to book us a taxi, which only took a few minutes. There's also a book of local restaurant menus in the common area, which was helpful in choosing a dinner location.

Overall, we'd happily return, and the great reviews certainly proved true!

This is a small hotel (20 rooms?) that exhibits being run by someone with a sense of class. I don't know if the innkeepers are owners or managers but they do an excellent job.

The hotel is pretty basic, situated in the mid-range, above Motel 6 but below Hampton Inn (but only in some respects). The public siting area is fairly large and very appealing. Adjacent is the breakfast area (6 tables?) and the breakfast buffet.

Our room was large, even by American standards, with a king bed, two writing desks, a low-boy dresser and a sitting area with a decent sized sofa and chaise lounge. The bathroom area is separated from the bedroom via a doorway, beyond which is a sink, separate room with door containing a toilet and tub with integrated shower. Water pressure and temperature was adequate. There was adequate though not overly generous space for toiletries. Soap and better than average shampoo, shower lotion, etc. was provided. The furnishings are best described as rustic, this is not a Philippe Starck influenced hotel, but the bed was comfortable with above average bedding. There was an adequate number of electrical outlets, albeit at floor level. WiFi performance was terrific; in the bedroom Ping was 40ms, download 14.17Mbps and upload 1.44Mbps, probably the best amongst a dozen hotels in which I've stayed in the last two months.

The breakfast was adequate and nicely presented but wasn't overwhelming. Again the class element was in play, they made a basically basic offering look much better than average. There was oatmeal, with a multitude of toppings,l and a wide selection of cold cereals, fresh coffee, orange juice and fresh muffins. One could have breads toasted and waffles were offered.

The hotel is located about three minutes from Highway 29 and is about 15 minutes walking distance to downtown Napa. EDITORIAL: For anyone considering visiting Napa Valley I would recommend the city of Napa as a base. The hotels are less expensive than other upper valley towns, there are decent restaurants in town and proximity to Hwy 29 means popular towns and their restaurants are within easy reach. I have no vested interest in Napa.

What makes this hotel stand out is the service, the staff is friendly and efficient and their is an above average sense of class. One of the best examples of value for money I've encountered recently.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked California St. On the first night traffic noise disturbed my wife but the second...

We were upgraded to deluxe room which was, at my surprise, huge. The room was amazing, good smelling with big cosy bed, bathroom was clean with good quality toilettries. Ladies at the front desk were helpful and very nice but the thing that won me over was home made cookies and cake at the lobby.

This is by far the best hotel in Napa! The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is extremely helpful and nice, and the breakfast is outstanding! They say it is a continental breakfast but it is so much more. They make belgian waffles to order as well as fresh baked muffins, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit parfaits and so much more...The lobby is always warm and inviting as well. Excellent hotel, especially for the price!

Great location, close to downtown, highway access, and restaurants. Over the top friendly service and comfortable room. We stayed in the 'back' section, up the stairs, in a very spacious room: comfortable king size bed, lots of soft towels, and décor to fit the quaintly decorated hotel. Feels like home!!

This is a very small inn which made it nice, not so crowded. It felt like we were staying in a Bed & Breakfast. The breakfast was superior to other BW Plus that we have stayed at. The Belgium waffles were delicious with a poached egg! We stayed in Rm. 202 that had a view of the main parking lot which you could see through the tree branches, so lots of privacy. We could hear the traffic from the street below, but we did have the windows open. One of them was hard to close, so we left it slightly open to enjoy the fresh air as it was quite warm for early December there. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Where do I start?! We loved this place: spacious and comfortable room (don't miss the mini-frig under the sink) immaculately cleaned; great location less than a mile from downtown Napa (a nice walk) and right off hwy 29 leading to all the wineries; fabulous breakfast including made to order sweet potato waffles, fresh fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, real oatmeal with all the toppings, freshly made mini sweet breads (different variety each day) and really good coffee; warm, freshly made chocolate chip cookies each evening; lovely sitting area with fire place in the common spaces with coffee and ice water available all day long; gracious and friendly staff who bent over backwards to make us welcome and comfortable in every way.
