“Nice common areas, outdated rooms and hallways”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

The pictures on the website are deceiving. It makes it look like an updated modern hotel. The lobby and bar area are freshly updated and nice. The rooms and hallways haven't been updated in a while. They still have the dark red and gold patterns with old furniture. I called a week in advance and again the morning of check in to reserve a room on the second floor with a view of the courtyard. I am a platinum Marriott rewards member and stay over 130 nights a year in Marriott's. The platinum status means nothing at this hotel. We were offered either a ground level room on the pool side or a second level room with a view of the parking lot. I was able to get us moved on the third night, but that was a hassle. The hallway stayed a constant 78 degrees. When we checked in to our room the thermostat was set on 78. It took forever for the room to cool off. It was a pleasant 68 degrees outside, but they had no windows open anywhere in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The girls that work in the concierge lounge were very attentive and did a great job. The morning breakfast in the lounge was basically continental with some scrambled eggs everyday. The spa isn't attached to the hotel. It is in a generic non descript building next door. I guess I expected more out of the hotel because of it's location in Napa being more of a tourist destination then a business destination. For not much more money there are a lot of better choices in the area. Next time we will stay farther north in Yountville or St. Helena.

Room Tip: The quieter rooms are on the non pool side. Although they are apparently older.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and absolutly loved it! The hotel lobby and bar area is wonderful and the hotel staff is just as good. The location is good with only a short ride to main street Napa. When we arrived, we had no clue what to do or where to go in Napa, this being our first trip there. We spoke with the concierge and she recomend a great place to eat as well as making our reservation for us. I highly reccomend this hotel!

Good location, right off Highway 29, this hotel is your standard variety Marriott...clean, comfortable and a good value. Their Concierge Lounge is a great place to grab a continental breakfast or a cup of coffee in the morning, a light snack in the afternoon, or a dessert in the evening. The lunch we had at the restaurant was very good and to echo another reviewer's point about the Chick Pea Fries -- they were great!

My boyfriend and I stayed one night here with another couple before a day of wine tasting. We got a good deal on Priceline, so especially for the price we paid, I was very satisfied with the hotel. As other reviewers have mentioned, the fire pits outside were great for relaxing by with a glass of wine at night. The room was decently sized and very clean. My only small complaints would be that the pillows were a little soft for my personal preference and there was no garbage can in the bathroom which was just a little weird (don't know if that was normal or just something that someone forgot to replace).

The location was good, with a 10 minute drive to downtown Napa. We had dinner at Carpe Diem Wine Bar which I would highly recommend.

The staff was friendly and helpful (maybe a little extreme with drawing out on a map of the hotel how we had to walk straight down the hallway to get to our room, but better too helpful than not enough!).

Beautiful courtyard area and pool. I really enjoyed the view from our room that overlooked the courtyard. The nightly wine tasting and the food in the concierges lounge were also very enjoyable. We will stay here again.

What an elegant stay in the heart of wine country! The staff is helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant (and the wine list) is superb. My two favorite things are the pillow top, comfy beds and the outdoor fire pits, which are perfect for a glass of wine by nightfall. Romantic and luxurious. Great place to come "home" to after a day of wine tasting!

Oh, and the chickpea fries at the bar/restaurant are an A+

Room Tip: Estate Suite is just perfect!

Excellent hotel, what you expect from such a resort. Great staff. Gracious and organized concierge. Convenient and appreciated concierge lounge for breakfast and evening appetizers. Room was good size and nicely appointed. Plenty of free parking, some of the city locations we stayed at had parking from $17- $35 per day. Liked the fire pits for relaxing in the evening.

Room Tip: Try to avoid being near the elevators (chimes) or across hall from vending, as people seem to just l...
