“Short stay OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Spent the day driving from San Francisco via Sausalito to Napa. Lovely town to drive into, picturesque. As we only wanted one nights accommodation, we found a Starbucks, used their free wifi and booked this hotel. Our room was upstairs but there was an elevator so no issue with our cases. The guy at reception was mildly welcoming, nothing out of the ordinary. He told us to park our car around the next street corner behind that hotel so we got our bags out of the car first so that we wouldn't have to drag them around the streets to our room. The room itself was ok, just average. The toilet and shower were separate from the vanity which had a coffee maker next to it. The coffee was disgusting so we didn't bother a second time. We basically ate out that night and left the next morning. OK for a one nighter but I wouldn't bother staying here for any longer.

Room Tip: If you have to park around the back of the hotel in the next street, get your bags out of the car fi...

Booked through Hotwire.com so we didn't know the name of the place before paying. 1) tiny room 2) odd smell upon entry (which either disapates or I just got used to) 3) bathroom-tiny (hard to even turn around in for a small person let alone a larger one), mold/mildew, cracked tile, the caulk looks like its as old as the building which by my estimates was built some 30-40 years ago. It is a 3 level bates looking motel with the first level being parking under the drive in court u shaped building. No fridge or microwave. NOT WORTH $105 paid. Room 210 decorated with 80s pickled wood furniture except for the 3 chairs which were from the 60s (possibly from the set of the Austin Powers movies). The door, although closed/locked falls open a half inch after closing it requires the safety bar be pulled over the peg attached to the door to ge the door pushed up against the door frame for a good fit. As I was leaving the office to get new pillows to replace the rocks they had on the bed two well well liquored men were employing a cab and as they were loading up they kept yelling they were gonna buy a hooker. Bottom line...when you enter the parking area driving in on the left ask yourself WTH am I doing this isn't the UK. Then keep driving to another lodging facility. At least it appeared to be bug free...

I would call this place a glorified motel...but in the best sense of the word. I didn't expect much when I pulled into the parking lot. But our room was spacious, had great bedding, a great shower...real coffee cups (not Styrofoam). The hairdryer was antiquated to say the least, but all the rest was great. But the real reason to stay here is the location...walking distance to all the lovely downtown hotspots.
Oh yes, and the front desk staff were very nice.

We have just put in brand new mattress in all rooms they look and feel great so that would solve everyone's questions about bugs and discomfort and hardness of the bed in the room thank you to loyal customers who hung threw it with us during our remodeling. We have respectfully viewed all comments and made the proper adjustment to correct the problems.

My husband and I decided to be a little spontaneous and take a trip to the Napa Valley for the weekend. We booked the room from their hotel website and wasn't too sure of what to expect. The rooms looked nice on the website. When we checked in, the room was better than I had thought. Clean, Comfortable, and Quiet. We visited a bunch of wineries and local food hot spots. This place is great, we'll be back !

Good hotel. Their manager Gary Dent was super nice and very helpful. Also, great location and CLEAN. We went to a wedding in Napa and needed a place to stay that evening. The location was only 30min. away from the Winery and the price was very reasonable for that time of year.

We stayed here for two nights, but we had five reserved. On our second night, my girlfriend fell down a flight of stairs. She had to be immobilized and taken to the hospital by the paramedics. No body from the hotel came to help. I told the hotel manager, Gay Dent, that we were leaving and I was not paying. All he said was “OK.”

There was no minimum stay, and Gary Dent, the manager, refused to authorize a refund though hotes.com, even for the nights not used. I’ve had to fight it out with visa and hotels.com. Most of the lights were out on the stairs, and one concrete stair was cracked and missing part of the tread.

The room smelled terribly, and there was mold all over the bath room. There were not enough bath towels. The management has no integrity, at best. They are sleaze bags at worst.

Based on the other reviews, they keep lowering there rates. Even it was $20, you would be better off sleeping in your car.

Unforunately I was misqouted or misunderstood. The 3 Palms a chain hotel attmepts, at all times to be hospitable to all guests. The staff work at making the accomodations and amenities for the guests available and to the highest standard of professionalism. Seldom, there are times when we must follow procedures that appear to be callous but we must follow the policy. These policies are reviewed and revised if the situation warrants such action. Since, I have been involved in the hospitaliy industry I hope that I could help all the guests, but sometimes I am forced to follow the hotel protocol for certain situations.

A convenient, pleasant, affordable attractive place to stay in downtown Napa. The welcoming staff was most cordial and helpful. This is a perfect location within walking distance of many interesting restaurants, shops, bakeries, and town events. We were visiting Napa to go to Smoakville, a "boutique ribbery," and would definitely book a return stay at 3 Palms.

Room Tip: There's a pool on the ground floor. It was very quiet on the third floor.
