“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

What stood out most for me about our time in this hotel was the excellent help we received from David on reception. He was really active and helpful in giving us advice and tips and booking trips for us. This made sure we got the most out of our two days in Napa - thank you! The rooms were spacious though a bit brown for my taste. The complementary breakfast was average and the complementary drinks reception a nice touch. It's a comfortable 15 minute walk into town which was pretty quiet. Anyone sensible will be on a wine tour is my guess.

My friends and I had the experience of a lifetime at Embassy Suites in Napa. From check-in to check-out we were treated like queens! We were so thrilled with this hotel we stayed an extra nite. David was an excellent concierge. Every morning we had made-to-order omelets and every evening, free cocktails at the manager's reception. Our suite was magnificent, 2 televisions and enough space to sleep 3. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Napa.

For the price not worth it. No Free Internet. No outdoor hot tub, fire pit only ONE !!! We have stayed in other hotels/resorts for same price during same time of year and much nicer especially in the evening. After being out all day it is nice to come back to the hotel and be able to sit down around the pool and have a cocktail and sit by a fire.

My wife and I stayed at the Embassy Suites Hotel Napa Valley for four nights at the start of our West Coast honeymoon. I didn't choose this particular property; Priceline.com did for me. And while the hotel was comfortable and convenient in many respects, it pays to know what type of property you're staying in when considering the occasion for the travel (in my case, a romantic getaway). Lesson learned!

At our request, the Embassy Suites staff relocated our room twice: once to avoid a smoking room the first night (which Priceline didn't let me unselect originally) and the second time a night later for enhanced privacy (third floor vs. first floor and to avoid open views of the parking lot). Part of the property is outside and part has interior corridors; the courtyard area has secured access for hotel guests only. Front-desk staff were outstanding in every regard and friendly at every turn; they easily earn five stars.

All ES rooms are two-room suites. Drapes and windows fully open on the bedroom side, but on the living room side, there are only narrow plantation shutter-style slats next to the door that let in no light when drawn or very little light when fully opened. My wife likes "light and bright" areas, so she didn't enjoy the cavern-like living room (granted, we weren't there to watch TV). Otherwise, rooms were updated and comfortable with a standalone sink in the bedroom and enjoyable bedding products.

The hotel grounds are fairly dated and not luxurious by any standard. The interior areas (beyond what looks like a recent update to the lobby) resemble an ES in its heyday in the 1980s -- dark with earth tones throughout. This didn't set the appropriate backdrop for our romantic getaway. For approximately $220/night (Priceline rate), it fit the budget, but for $400-500/night, the best of Yountville and St. Helena are yours for the picking, with more beautiful vistas than California Route 29.

From the perspective of convenience, though, the Embassy Suites rocked. It was directly off the on-ramp to California 29 and a short jaunt to the heart of Napa Wine Country. So for friends rendezvousing for a weekend wine getaway or San Francisco business travelers who want a little Merlot after their meetings, this is your hotel.

And did I mention the awesome made-to-order breakfast each morning? The staff prepare omelettes, pancakes and other wonderful, tasty creations from 6:30 to 9:30 every morning. We took full advantage each of our four mornings there.

The Embassy Suites is a great pick for certain types of travelers. For this particular occasion, it didn't fit the bill, but given a different occasion I would return without reservation (well, I'd have a "room" reservation ... you know what I mean).

Room Tip: Opt for a third-floor room with interior corridors, preferably away from the highway. And make sure...

I was thrilled arriving at the Embassy Suites Napa. I didn't expect it to be close to the level it was. The hotel is adorable from the outside and modern and updated inside. The lobby is beautiful and there is a courtyard with a barn and water wheel complete with a small lake filled with swans. The complimentary breakfast is made to order, they host a nightly happy hour, and the location is perfect for exploring Napa, Yountville and St Helena. The staff is super nice and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this hotel, especially given the price the value is definitely there.

This was our first time at this hotel, and there is potential for this place. The staff is friendly, public spaces are kept clean, as was the room. The beds are comfortable, but we didn't sleep well due to the fact that every time the room above us flushed we could hear it loud & clear which was several times a night. Also the AC unit made a very loud banging sound at the end of each cooling session. There was an issue with our toilet leaking which was addressed quickly. The free breakfast is basic: eggs, cereal, breads, bacon, sausage, fresh oranges, bananas, and grapefruit. The evening reception could offer a bit more variety. I have had better at other Embassy Suites. The inner courtyard is very picturesque.

Our experience with this hotel was great, as it offered an individual bedroom so that the kids (2.5 years and 9 months old) could sleep and have a good rest. The amenities were great, and the evening reception and complimentary breakfast were a big hit!!!!
