“Loved everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2008

We searched for a hotel all through Napa Valley for months before we found The Chablis Inn. We chose it because of price, location, and positive reviews. We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. We stayed 4 nights, and everything was great. Office staff was very friendly, the room was wonderfully clean & comfy, the place was quiet even during the booked weekend, and the room had helpful amenities including a mini fridge, coffee pot, iron & board, and hairdryer. This hotel is in a great area, across the street from: a whole foods type grocery store with great pastries & dinner items, a pizza place, Starbucks, and Target is a very short walk away too. I'm not usually the type to write hotel reviews, but we had such a hard time finding a hotel in Napa, and had such a great experience with this hotel, that I thought it would help anyone else out there who is traveling to Napa on a budget like we were. This hotel is also right off the main highway that takes you to all the vineyards, so it's a great, safe, and quiet area. The office staff was also nice enough to let us choose our room when we arrived. This is a great & smart place to stay that is honestly a steal for Napa Valley!! This is a great choice for couples, singles, families, and pets too.

Got the info from the local Tourist Info in Napa. Rates were great due to last minute US$89+tax. Nice place, clean and the little kitchen was convenient. Easy access to highway, walmart is close and great starting point for driving through Napa/Sonoma Valley.

Just returned from California, spent 3 nights in the Chablis Inn. I booked it based on past reviews and was not disappointed. The room was clean, the bed comfy with plenty of pillows, the location good, we enjoyed the nice little pool area, the internet in the lobby was handy. There was a small kitchenette with small fridge, small sink and microwave, which was very handy, there is a great grocery store across the street.

I booked this hotel for $200/night including tax. I had read the reviews on trip advisor and had hoped for a clean room. Instead, I got a room with ants. In fact, when I woke up in the morning I had ants in my clothes which were placed on the bathroom counter as well as the shower.

I did my best to clean the ants and then promptly went to the staff at the counter to discuss my issue. She asked for my room number and then said matter of factly, "oh, yeah, room 14 has ants".

No offer of discount or anything else. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told the manager was "on vacation" and she would have to see the room for herself to get a discount. I then had the staff person go into the hotel room to look at the number of ants and she returned saying, "I'm not going to credit your card for 1 ant". I explained minutes before I had them all over my clothes and if we gave them time they would return. She avoided eye contact with me and did not offer any other condolence.

Needless to say, I will never stay here again.

We stayed 1 night at this motel and although it isn't in the center of the wineries, it was a good location to end at. We started at the northern end near Calistoga and worked our way down back to the Napa area. Staff was friendly and room was clean. For the price and location, this was a great find. If you are looking for a good motel at a decent price and prefer to spend your money elsewhere such as wine and food...this is the place for you.

We stayed one night while visiting Napa. Considering the prices of hotels in the area, we got this for a rock-bottom $105/night and the room was great for the price. It was clean and had a little kitchenette. The bathroom door didn't shut too well, but we weren't there long term. Slow wi-fi. Not the softest beds in the world, but decent. Great customer service - the lady at the desk printed driving directions for us and answered many questions.

  • Liked — nice staff
  • Disliked — beds (but they really weren't that bad!)

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is located near highway but you don't ear anything.
The room was super clean, the bed was really comfortable (have to say that we stayed there after a complete week in camping so we REALLY enjoyed this bed!!). The linen was sooooo comfortable!

Our room has a kitchenette but since we were there only for 1 night, we didn't use it. However, it looked perfect.

Some people were desapointed in the fact that vineyards were a bit far but since you are not able to visit vineyards without having a car, it's not a big deal!! Ask for a map at the front desk that shows all of them and where they are located.
