“Time Share Exchange”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

When I read reviews from people who stay at the same place on the same dates, and have totally different experiences, I always wonder how the reviews can vary so much.
Overall, this is a lovely resort with a few issues.
Check in was smooth, and staff was courteous. Maintenance issue was dealt with promptly, and we were called back to check on it. Our room was beautifully decorated.
As some other reviews mentioned, the walls are thin. We heard every sound from next door, and some from the hall, too.
My biggest issue was the ventilation system. There were two annoying, frequent intermittent sounds. One was a humming/whining sound that my usually oblivious spouse even noticed, and the other was a throbbing, kind of bass speaker noise.
We liked the location. It took 7 minute to get into Napa, and was that much closer when we went to Sonoma.
We think the $20.00 tasting fee at their tasting room is too high. We found other wineries with very good wines for less money. Try Cline and Jacuzzi. Technically, Sonoma, but only about 15 minutes away, with free tasting. They are directly across the road from each other. Jacuzzi also has free olive oil and vinegar tasting.
Parking is a bit of an issue.
Another reviewer who stayed there recently, referred to a $20.00 resort charge. We didn't have that, but did have a $35.00 "occupancy tax". Really? Call it something else, please. A tax to occupy a hotel? What else would you do in a hotel, but occupy it?

Room Tip: If you want to spend time outside, and you have a choice, not downstairs. Upstairs rooms have a balc...

Everything was wonderful, from the check in where the amenities are explained in detail. We loved the complimentary wine in the suite. The spa is beyond description, You just have to visit to experience. I had the best massage of my life, sorry I did not retain the persons name who gave it to me. My friend also said the same about her massage, so you probably cannot go wrong no matter who gives the services, all are equally great. The restaurant is top notch, food and the service. I had the homemade pizza one night. Don't miss the oatmeal at breakfast, with cranberries, blueberries and nuts . Tour the vineyards, its just beautiful and a good workout going up the steps and thru the vineyard. There is something for everyone and its only about thirty minutes from downtown Napa. We had the best time at the Open Market, you will enjoy the food and the shopping!
All of this if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful suites, everything especially the bed and bath facilities are luxurious. Our friends usually stay at the Ritz and stated that they were more impressed with Vino Bella!

As time share owners, it's nice to have a place in napa. Vino Bello is a nice hotel, clean and located well. They have a few minor issues to work out..our room was never fully stocked with waters and supplies. Our friends stayed down the hall and had fresh waters daily. The biggest problem was the complimentary shuttle. It's a wonderful service and when operating smoothly is great. However, in our 4 night stay, we encountered annoyances 3 times. Usually it was just waiting for people we were picking up at restaurants..they called for a pick up and then were late...so we had to keep circling around and waiting for like 15-20 min! Do it 2 times and you're now 40 min waiting on a shuttle to go back to the hotel. But the worst was one night the shuttle driver called off work, so we were told, and the shuttle became a van that took 6 ppl..we had been waiting to get on and people kind of cut their way in so we did not get on. The guy at the bell desk said, "sorry..you can get a cab".. I explained we had been there waiting..he even saw us sitting there, and said it was just too bad that the normal shuttle wasn't running. A cab is about 30-40$ one way to downtown napa..I asked for a manager who was busy at the time..a cab showed up and it was a limo style one that was 45$..our friends were so annoyed that they just paid so we could make our dinner reservation. When we came back..via the van/shuttle that took forever I went to the front desk again and got the manager on duty. He agreed after a more aggressive conversation to refund us the fare..not the tip. Then upon check out, we found out it was a set amount that didn't even cover the whole thing! I think that's just terrible business period and as a timeshare owner, it's even more annoying. I hope they don't penalize customers in the future because a driver calls in or whatever..we pay good money to be there and business should always run as advertised, with out customers knowing who is calling in and short staffed, etc. it's not our problem..we are on vacation, not at work.

Room Tip: Get a top floor or you will hear everything

We just came back from a week at Vino Bello resort in Napa Valley as part of our timeshare exchange. It truly exceeded our expectations! The condo was very well kept, beautifully decorated and very cozy. The bed was comfortable and the quality of the sheets and the pillows was amazing. We would look forward at the end of the day to go back, turn on our fireplace, relax and truly enjoy. Highly recommend it!

This was our second visit to the Vino Bello this year. The first time we exchanged into 1 bed-room unit for 4 days. Our first stay was so pleasant, it inspired us to come back for a longer visit. This time we had a 2 bedroom unit and stayed for two weeks over Thanksgiving. It was just like being home (though smaller), except with maid service, an on-site winery and gourmet restaurant. The 2 bedroom unit consists of a 1 bedroom unit with an adjoining studio unit. The 1 bed-room unit has a full kitchen/dining area, a sitting area with a gas-fired fireplace and an outside balcony or patio on the 1st floor, a spa-tub and a luxurious shower room. The studio unit is has a large bedroom with comfortable sitting room, a small outdoor patio and a full bathroom with a shower/ full-size tub. Instead of a full kitchen, it has a wet-bar with a microwave and a mini refrigerator. Both units feature a sofa-bed couch and can each sleep 4 adults, more if you care to get cozy. This 2 bedroom set-up is very convenient way to have friends or family visit and still maintain privacy for everyone; both my son and a former work colleague found it very convenient on their separate stays during those 2 weeks. As for other conveniences, if we didn't want to eat in, it was a short walk to the gourmet restaurant in the resort, or a short ride to a number of gourmet restaurants in Napa (check-out the Oxbow Market on 3rd if you visit Napa). If one wanted to sample wine without driving to a winery, it was just another short walk to the on-site winery's tasting room. The resort is located just north of the intersection of the Silverado trail and 29/121, with easy access to the wineries in Napa and Sonoma, and downtown Napa. The one drawback is that the parking could not accommodate all of the cars when there are 2 or more cars per unit.

Room Tip: Top floor accommodations are the quietest and have the best views. The north side units face the...

Nicely stocked rooms, quiet, well maintained grounds, next door to the beautifully decorated (for Christmas) Meritage Resort. You have access to the resort amenities, and there are lots of places to just sit and relax at the resort. The resort also has an indoor fireplace in the lobby and has an outdoor fireplace also. Both fireplaces have seating nearby so you can just hang out by the fire. Our unit had an indoor gas fireplace that we used everyday. Nothing to do with kids here in the winter, but I can imagine in the summer it would be fun to hang out by the beautiful pool while the kids played.

Room Tip: we stayed in the Merlot building and it doesn't really have a good view. The older buildings, C...

We went with friends over Thanksgiving. They got a "two bedroom" suite. There was plenty of room for our Thanksgiving dinner. Their room was quite nice. We had the second bedroom, across a private entry. It was also nice and had a microwave and sink if we wanted them. it was also stocked with dishes.

The grounds are very nicely kept. It is on the same property as their sister-hotel, The Meritage. It was so nice that we will return after Christmas.

Our wine tasting experience was fun and the wine was good. Their restaurant was also good.
