“Great place - hate the resort fee...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We have stayed here several times, most recently in a 1 BR. I actually think this is a good location for visiting wine country, it isn't right in the middle of Napa but there is easy access to Hwy 12, 121 and the Silverado Trail. There is a tasting room on site and other tasting rooms within a 10 min drive. There are a lot of restaurants nearby as well. We like the large well stocked units, even the guest room/studios have a full kitchen. The beds are comfortable and I love the large shower and the whirlpool tub. There is no makeup mirror and the only full length mirror is not in a well lit location (behind the bedroom door).

My one gripe with the Vino Bello is the resort fee of $20 for this you get 1 bottle of wine on arrival, 2 bottles of water replenished daily, internet, shuttle and parking...I dont know any other property in Napa that charges for parking and the parking is so limited that when the resort is at capacity it can be impossible to find a space (even on the street). We keep coming back so I guess the pesky fee isn't a big deal but I really dont see much value added (especially if you are here for several days) and it bothers me enough that this isn't my first choice for a place to stay...

We enjoyed another staycation here, truly enjoy this resort. We love the fact this resort is located on the outskirts of town (10 minutes to Downtown Napa). It is very quiet and peaceful. My only negative was being on the second level, the room above us ran their spa tub after 11:00, just a wee bit annoying, so always try for the third floor (that's why 4 stars on the sleep quality) otherwise it's a 5). They have added a bowling alley and sports bar! Their one bedroom suites can't be beat, full kitchens saves money on meals and they also provide coffee. Love the free bottle of wine, goody package and the robes!

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room/suite overlooking the vineyards or pool.

My husband and I had never been to this resort and let me start by saying "It's great!" From the moment we checked in we were treated like royalty. The front desk staff were very helpful and polite. Our room was a one bedroom condo and excellent. Large area, clean, and had a great view from the balcony. We booked early and paid at the time of the booking which reduced the rate quite a bit. Your reservation cant be cancelled but it is worth the difference in price. We did go to the cafe and Crush lounge while onsite. It was nice to play shuffle board, have a cocktail and watch a sports event. We will be back for sure, loved it!

Room Tip: I would suggest upgrading to the pool view, you can see the vineyards also which was really nice.

I highly recommend this resort for business or pleasure during your next stay in Napa. Staff is very helpful and knowledgable starting from Preston the bell hop to Doris the manager. Pleasant and warming atmosphere, clean and relaxing.

I have stayed here 4 times with my boyfriend when we come out to Napa.
The PROS-------
-free bus rides into downtown Napa
-mini kitchen in room with wine glasses
-free bottle of wine
-mini fridge to keep your cheese :)
-it's pretty clean
-there's a place to plug in your electric car
The CONS
-the heat/ac controls DO NOT WORK
-one morning we woke up 50 degrees in our room!!
-the phone didn't work
-restaurant is WAY over priced for what they offer
-it's farther away from Napa than you think
-you have to be 25 to go to that meeting to get the free stuff
-the only free wine they give you is MOSCATO.. EWW

Valued Guest,

Thank you for choosing the Vino Bello Resort for your stay; we appreciate your loyalty and feedback. I would like to take the time and address some of the cons you experienced during your stay with us. Our engineering staff follows through with regular maintenance on all of our heating and air conditioning units regularly. I do apologize for your experience and can assure you that I have been taking the proper steps to ensure this doesn’t happen. We are a 10 minute drive from downtown Napa but as you said, the shuttle service provides transportation to and from our resort and downtown Napa. Our restaurant is comparable and competitively priced to those in the surrounding area but this information has been taken into consideration and is appreciated. Once again, I value your feedback and hope you return soon and often.

This was our second time staying at this resort and this time we took our kids with us. The 1bedroom accommodations are excellent, spacious, and well-appointed. The kids loved the "richness" of the room. There are two pools - an adult only pool - and a family-friendly pool that includes a little wading pool, spa, fire pit, and a small water shooting thingy. Beautiful areas around to walk in, including the vineyard on the grounds. We didn't make use of the shuttle to downtown Napa this time, but that is there if ever we need it. The addition of the sports bar complete with bowling alley was a fun visit, and the new coffee shop is a bonus for the early morning coffee and pastry run. We will be back once again, whenever time and budget permits.

This was a nice property. Although it is not quite in the heart of Napa, it is perfect for families. The drive up to Yountville and many of the vineyards is easy since the hotel is right off the main route that goes through Napa, Highway 29.

Each room has a mini kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. It is a large resort with many amenities including a few nice pools, a bacchi court, and a coffee shop.

I would recommend going to see the concierge to get some coupons and suggestions for vineyards. The man we spoke to was Justin. We saved quite a bit of money by going to speak to him.
