“Best Place in NAPA!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

My wife and I recently stayed at the Meritage to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The resort far exceeded our expectations. We absolutely loved the underground cave/ spa. We booked a couples massage and the whole experience was amazing. This resort has something for everyone. The late night Crush lounge that has a bowling alley/shuffle board table is awesome for small groups and the food is great as well. We didn't have to leave the resort all weekend to find good food or entertainment because it is all on site. The Sunday breakfast buffet was hands down better than anything I've ever had in Vegas. The pool also offers great cabanas for relaxing all day and ordering food from. The cherry on top for us was definitely the Catholic chapel offering Sunday mass. We are definitely going to be coming back here often!

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony overlooking the vineyard!

Very pleased with the Meritage. The Resort has a nice location just south of the town of NAPA. Rooms were spacious very clean and very current. The employees were very helpful and friendly. Very unique to see a bowling alley in their on premise Sports Bar, a lot of fun. Wi-Fi has a good signal though you might have problems with Streaming. Work out facility had a variety of equipment and was good size. There was a coffee shop on premise if you did not want to hit the restaurant with a number of good breakfast sandwiches and specialty drinks.

Only had lunch at their main restaurant and the food and service were both good. Nothing that stood out as a must have but very good choices. I would definitely stay at this resort again when visiting NAPA.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of June! It was our first time in California and we we certainly not disappointed. The setting of the hotel is fabulous, surrounded by vineyards and with its own tasting cellar. We ate diner in the sienna restaurant and the level of service was excellent. Roy, our server , was extremely knowledgeable about the menu as well as being very helpful. The food was delicious and just what we wanted! The pool area is absolutely beautiful , with plenty of loungers and lots of fluffy white towels. The staff at reception were very helpful, as indeed were all the staff. Our only problem was that our itinerary meant that we were unable to stay longer. Take the hotel bus into Napa downtown. It is great fun!

I stayed here recently for two nights as part of a conference. Check in staff were great, and I was offered glass of wine as I checked in (it's the same wine that is complimentary in the room - go ahead & drink it - no mystery mini bar charges if you do!). Room was very nice, although it looked out over a parking lot and the "stunt grapes" growing on the hill behind the resort, with a comfortable bed & great bathroom. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, well maintained and perfect for the type of meeting I was attending.

The only off note? The location. The Meritage is located in an office/light industrial park with all the charm of a, well, office park. Going for an early morning run was was like running through a - you guessed it - office park.

Downtown Napa is ~10 minutes away via car or the complimentary shuttle. If you're interested in the fantastic restaurants of Yountville & wineries in St. Helena, plan to rent a car.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room, and/or spring for one that faces the pool or a courtyard

Had a wonderful time at this property! My husband and I were travelling to Napa for the first time for a wedding and had our two small children with us (7) & (3). The Meritage staff was very welcoming, particularly our bellman. They do a great job of making families feel comfortable but also keep some areas adult only for those couples wanting some adult time. For example there is one adult only pool area and another that is family friendly - this one has a little splash pad area and "baby pool" as well as a regular size pool and hot tub. At the family pool they also have an area where people could grill out if they wanted....saw families making smores at the fire pit! They also have bowling lanes open to families until 7pm then it becomes an adults only club/lounge. Beautiful rooms and our housekeeping lady was very sweet and helpful.

Overall, this was a very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, great service and interesting on-site activities. Located at the south end Napa with easy access to both 29 and Silverado Trail, the resort sits next to a business park just off 12/29 but seems more isolated than you would think looking at a map.

Check-in was quick and friendly, our bags were delivered promptly, and the valet was efficient. The shuttle to "downtown" Napa was very convenient, dropping us close to multiple dining options.

On-site, we enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere of Crush. While we didn't get a chance to try the bowling (I had a broken finger), we did get to hear people doing so. My one knock on our stay was our balcony room was on the 2nd floor above Crush - while not excessively loud, you could definitely hear the noise from the bowling lanes.

We also enjoyed a couple of treatments at Spa Terra. Very relaxing, the cave setting under the vineyard is a nice touch. With our appointments being at the end of the day, we were given the option of coming back the next day to use the whirlpool and steam rooms, and our cheese/fruit tray was delivered to our room.

The weather was a little cool and windy, so we didn't use the pool or enjoy the outdoor seating areas, but both of these seemed quite nice.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend it. It is a bit of a drive from Meritage to the main winery areas and we typically had a bit of traffic driving back to the resort in the afternoon and had to factor that into planning spa and dinner times.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not on the 2nd floor of building 2 above Crush.

This is the greatest resort located in an industrial park I've ever visited. (No I'm not lying.) I thought Google maps went haywire, but I arrived and enjoyed this place very much. The winery on the property offered a nice entrance to wine country (and surprised me as to the fine quality of wine they produced). The staff was extremely attentive and hospitable. The only criticism I have is I constantly felt pressured by the concierge to join up with their time share program for every little inquiry I made with them. Pushy would be an understatement. But the pool, the restaurant, the club and the spa all made for a restful, romantic and wonderful stay in Northern California.
