“Good French option downtown Napa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

Good ambiance, pricey wine list but with reasonable options and a good bar. Cheese plate very good. French Onion soup lacks seasoning and Risotto was under seasoned and way over cooked but staff handled it well offering a dessert. canard is fantastic.

“Great French food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

The restaurant is along the walkway near the Napa River, so there are shops to visit close by.The food was very good, complex dishes. The service was excellent, very attentive. We were there for a romantic dinner and it was a little noisy,

“Fun, Friendly and Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

WE recently had dinner in the bar because we wanted to try the petrale fish and chips, which are not on the dinner menu. They were delicious! Jenna, the hostess, greeted us warmly and we were served by the bartenders, Mario and Kevin. The staff were all welcoming and efficient. It was busy, but we were treated as guests and not tourists. We will definitely be going back. The food was great, too!

“Dinner Celebration”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

We had a special celebration dinner at Angele and felt the food was just slightly above average. The wait staff was attentive and good but I just was not wowed by the food.

“French Countryside in Napa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

Angele is the kind of place you walk into and forget what part of the world you are actually in. As soon as you walk in, the decor, music and aromas transport you to the French countryside. The bread and butter were excellent - and encouraging sign right from the start. I could likely have made a meal of it, but knew it was a sign of better things to come. For appetizers, we shared the beef tartare and artichoke salad. I was slightly disappointed with the tartare - it was under-seasoned in my opinion, however I will say that I can see why, as the meat itself had a lovely and delicate flavor. The artichoke salad was very nicely done. For entrees, we had the duck and seared scallops. The duck was well done, tender and flavorful, but I really liked the scallops. The grilled leek paired very nicely. It was overall a well balanced plate although I would have liked a little more texture or some bit of crunchiness to contrast all of the creaminess. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
