“Lost repeat customers. Remodel altered customer focus.”
Used to be our favorite Napa restaurant. We would rush from the Sac. airport to Zuzu's before they closed because of the quality, variety and service. We would take family and friends their whenever visiting Napa. Z's was our number one choice. Sadly, with their remodel came an attitude change. The focus switched from accommodating and welcoming customers warmly to customers will do our bidding as we disdainfully look down at them. We tried to get a table for SEVEN, calling ahead, arriving early to get in line and seeing tables available. But because the rest of our party was not presently with us- they were 5- 10minutes behind us and then finding parking, the house manager (the servers had to check with the alpha dog) refused to seat us. There were still open tables and people were being seated. When our party arrived, there were still a few tables available. However, the manager would only seat us at the one large table upstairs, which was currently occupied, (so we would have to wait outside for an hour+) rather than put us at two 4 tops. Yes there was room. Z's no longer wants our business. The tab and the tip would not have been small, since we tend to be quite generous when we repeatedly patronize a place. How many of us have been turned away by this inflexible, service attitude? Big ticket sale, easy great tips lost.
