“Nice Place to Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Was pleasantly surprised at how warm and inviting this place was. It was easy to find, easy to make a reservation at, and the staff was friendly and warm. We made reservations for a tasting (will have to do the tour someday) and along with the wines we were given a plate of small bites of pairings to eat - a small quiche-like tart, roasted almonds with herbs, olives, and a few other things. This was my favorite winery/vineyard we visited all weekend!

“One of our favorites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2011

Not only is their wine one of our favorites in Napa, but the tasting room is as well. We've been coming here since the late 90s and the fee was inevitable. They're all doing it and it's hefty. BUT, most aren't providing food to accompany the wine! That in itself makes the fee worth it (we always end up buying wine too which sheds the fee away). We've always encountered helpful and nice pourers who take their time to get to know you're style and maybe offer something better suited to your palate. As always, a great place in the crazy wine world of Napa.

“A nice start to our wine tasting experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2010

Upon arriving in the Napa valley, Robert Sinskey Vineyards was the first winery that we visited. We both prefer white wines, however enjoy different degrees of "dryness". We both found wines that we enjoyed at this winery. We only attended the tasting, but enjoyed it very much. The different types of foods that they provided with the tasting was very interesting and appreciated.
The weather was very rainy, therefore we could not enjoy the grounds. The staff member that served us was very pleasant and informative. I am sorry that I cannot recall her name, however, she was a CIA student.
The experience was very relaxed, non hurried and not snooty at all.

“Beautiful setting, but completely snooty...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2010

Beautiful setting, but completely snooty. Their terrace was closed to everyone except club members. When we asked about their club, the tasting host basically refused to give us information on the club pricing. The impression was that until we paid the $25 tasting fee, we were not good enough to even be there.

“Great wine and great food -- and great understanding.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2009

I had heard of Robert Sinskey, and had tasted their wines, but I did not know that Robert Sinskey was maried to a world class chef (Maria Helm-Sinskey), who is one of the very few chefs who has also attianed the degree of Master of Wine. The emphasis on the interaction of food and wine is what made this winery tour particularly successful for me. If you are serious about wine and food, then this is a very worthwhile visit.
