“Fantastic Setting, Fantastic Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

The Milliken Creek Inn had the feeling of a boutique bed and breakfast combined with the best-of-breed boutique hotel. Fantastic service, great setting, and a very comfortable room. We really enjoyed ourselves.

My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend here. I had been wanting to go, but had hestitated because of the price of the rooms. He splurged on one of the suites and I was overwhelmed with the room and the location. The room was a large King, jetted tub, flat screen TV, with a small porch off the garden and had all the amenities one would expect from a luxury place like this one. The first morning breakfast was delivered to the room and we were able to eat on our porch since the weather was clear. It was sprinking the next morning. The breakfast is included and you can choose from a menu.
We had a great time at their wine tasting. Both nights we were served from one of the boutique wine producers in the area. We enjoyed visiting with the pourers, but you can take a glass and have your privacy as well. We went back to one of the wineries for a private tasting later that weekend.

We also used their spa for a couples massage. It's small, right on the property and has a very zen, tranquil feel. We thought the massage was a nice addition to the weekend.

The staff was gracious and helped my husband arrange dinner and other special treats for the birthday weekend. Everything is tasteful, of quality and thought out. The one surprise, which is mentioned on the website, but my husband missed the note, is that they add a 20% service charge to the price of the room. This fee, plus the cost of the room makes the hotel very expensive.

We had a great weekend, think the place is special, glad we tried it. We feel we can get luxury accommodations for less than $500/600 a night, so not sure if we will go back unless it was off season or a promotional rate.

My husband and I stayed at the Milliken Creek on a quick Napa trip - just one night. We absolutely loved this hotel - the staff was gracious (and they have a no tipping policy), the evening winemaker Magic Hour resulted in a private tour of the winery the next day, and they even have bottles of port that you can take to your room.

There was a little sitting area outside of our room's French Doors, which we kept ajar while we slept. We decided to get food from the Oxbow market for dinner and dined on our patio. The evening turndown was also great - they light candles for you, leave artisan chocoates on the bed, and we were delighted to come back to the room to a plate of delicious chocolate covered strawberries. I'm not sure if they do that for everyone, but I think so. There was also a nice note from the manager with the strawberries. What a delight!

We will definitely go back on our next jaunt to Napa. It's hard to believe it's only a 45 minute drive from our place in Berkeley!

My husband and I stayed at Milliken in one of the deluxe rooms for one evening. Our first impression of the inn was great. The lobby area is lovely with a spacious sitting room with a gorgeous view of the creek. We checked in and then were escorted to our room in the main building on the first floor. The room was beautiful however we were expecting a balcony. We were told that only select deluxe rooms included a balcony and were shown a deluxe room on the 2nd floor with a large balcony with a fabulous view but the room was small. We choose to stay in our selected first room based on the size of the room and the fact that the weather in February is not ideal for sitting on the balcony anyways. The bed was cozy and turndown service is lovely with candles, music, etc. The breakfast is cooked to order- there were 3 selections on the menu . You hang your card with your breakfast selection on your door the night before and breakfast is delivered to your door. The inn is great but pricey like most nicer accomodations in Napa- Our room was 329.00 with an online special- the rack rate would have been $450.00 with tax. I would stay here again for a special occasion.

My boyfriend and I stayed here during our visit to California wine country and could not have been more pleased. The Inn is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were courteous and helpful and our room exceeded our expectations. Breakfast from the French Laundry was delivered promptly and made for a delicious start to the day. We both agreed that our stay at the Milliken was perfection in every way.

Even with the rain my husband and I felt quite at home in the Inn. When we arrived about 2 hours ahead of the checkin time we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was available and that we were upgraded! I am very particular with scents and I loved that every area had this wonderful light aroma. Nothing over powering.
When we returned from our dinner later that evening, not to give anything away.. what a great turndown service!
The only thing we did not like was that there was no Fitness Room so we had to go to the nearby Hospital which had a fab gym but paid $24 for us both as a Day Visitor.
