Great chic and hip hotel. Reminds me of a W or Gansevoort but more intimate. Service was perfect, upgraded us for our special occasion and provided a bottle of champagne. Clean and prompt service, the front door was opened for me everytime I entered and exited the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic and service was exceptional. Not sure what's going on with dinner at restaurant but no one was there. Recommend oenotri restaurant directly across the street. Location of hotel is good.

Mid-May last minute trip to Napa Valley. Booked based on other reviews and confirm this is a great location, staff, and base for your tour of the valley. Happened to be there on a Thursday which is Chef's Night and 1st street is closed with a fun street fair just 2 blocks away. Also suggest dinner across the street at Oenotri Restaurant for excellent Italian dinner (nice patio in back). Room and bed nice, bathroom better, and parking in adjacent structure is free. Definitely would go back.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor facing 1st street. Not a view location but the back alley seemed depressing. an...

We stayed at the AVIA May 30 - June 2 - apparently the same time that the previous rater did - and we had quite a different experience. I loved the hotel - it was quiet - the bed was so comfortable that my husband said every day "I love this bed I don't want to get out of it". The location is great - and the town of Napa has grown up and is now THE destination in the valley. We used to stay in Yountville - which is great - you can walk through the vineyards, etc - and we did miss that in Napa. BUT we loved all of the great restaurants and wine tasting rooms in Napa. A MUCH better experience than 8-10 years ago....the waterfront is great, etc. The hotel offers free use of the gym next door - which is very nice. Parking is free if you self-park. The bar is great; and we ABSOLUTELY loved the 2nd floor firepits. We brought our own wine there every night. The staff was terrific and we highly recommend the AVIA. Thanks for a great visit!
** We do recommend a room on the 'city side' instead of the courtyard.

Room Tip: City side instead of courtyard.

The Avia Napa is right in the heart of Napa and is the perfect place to access all areas. Our room was excellent - very nicely decorated - love the ability to turn the TV 360 degrees so could either watch it in bed or on the sofa. It was also lovely and quiet without the ability to hear next door's conversation which we had experienced at the Argonaut in SF previously. Room service was prompt and efficient and check-in / check-out was friendly and fast. Good recommendations given by concierge which made for a fab day out around the valley followed by a picnic - great! If you park your car yourself, pkg is free behind the hotel on the third floor so no silly valet prices - bonus.

We are staying the AVIA Napa for our 10 year aniversery. This is the last stay of our 10 day trip.
The staff at this hotel is extremely inept.
( Webster ; without skill or aptitude for a particular task or assignment.)
I'll start with the bell person/ doorman.
This must be his first job ever. While he did provide us with a cart for our luggage,
he was compleatly dumbfounded when my wife asked for help getting it to our room. ( a true rocket scientist).
Let's now move to the room service person.
0 attention to detail. Now I do understand that syrup on pancakes is usually an option. What? Yes genius when someone tips you over the 18 0/0 included in the service bill, you should make sure you get the order right.
Let's finish with the front desk.
Now this may be a hardware issue, but transferring a call ( like to the resturant ) seems to be impossible. After 4 attempts the desk person took our order.
On an up note the front desk did promptly deliver a tablecloth for our balcony table. (the table is in bad need of refinishing, covered with splinters)
A very disappointing stay thus far.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. We regret that you encountered such disappointment with the Valet team, Room Service and the Front Office team, but know that we are following up with our Associates about these occurrences as we look to schedule additional training immediately. Please accept our sincere apology for the less than satisfactory experience you received at AVIA Napa. While the service you experienced is not the AVIA Napa standard, we continue to strive for every guest experience to be perfect. We hope you will give us the opportunity to redefine your experience in the future.

Sincerely,

We stayed here for four nights at the end of May. Overall the hotel is a great option as home base for winery touring in Napa. The service is very pleasant and helpful. You also get free garage parking, which is super convenient. We didn't spend a lot of time in downtown Napa (it is a pretty sleepy city), but used it as our base from which we would drive to wineries, and dinner in St Helena and Yountville in the evening (could have stayed there but we didn't want to spend over $300/night - wanted to spend our money on food and wine instead). We also took advantage of the access to the full gym next door which was great. And we did walk to the Oxbow market which was only a few blocks away. Also, to note, is that we reserved the entry level room which I thought would be just okay, but it is actually really spacious with a separate sitting area; there is also an outdoor terrace where you can bring your own wines, which was nice. The decor is pretty modern, and new, and the bathroom is quite large as well. Overall, a pleasant hotel where we would stay again.

My girlfriends and I shared a room at the AVIA Napa in late April for our annual girls getaway trip. I had read wonderful reviews of this property and they rang true from start to finish. The room we booked was two king sized beds and was just the right size for us. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room is stylishly appointed. The toiletries are of great quality and worth requesting a few extras to take home. The hotel offered a complimentary tasting each evening which was a nice touch. It is centrally located and is in walking distance of the great restaurants of downtown Napa. We really loved the location and the 2nd floor fire pit of the hotel proved a very nice end to each evening to enjoy a bottle of wine and good conversation with other hotel guests. I would definitely recomment this hotel.
Noteable restaurants in downtown: Ristorante Alegria, ABC Cafe (great breakfast spot), Celadon and Norman Rose--all delicious! Jonathan Anthony winery, next door to the hotel, has amazing Sauvignon Blanc!
