“Candlelight Inn - Classy and Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2011

This was my husband's first experience at a B&B and the Candlelight Inn was more than we could have imagined. It is beautiful and has every amenity we could have wanted. Sam is welcoming, friendly and helpful. He made all our tour reservations for us which made for a more relaxing stay. He even had menus for every restaurant in Napa so we could decide where to go.
The gourmet breakfasts were worthy of a 5 star restaurant and the cheese/fruit plates and chocolate cake were such a nice touch.
Sam made sure that every detail was taken care of perfectly.
We stayed in the Majestic Room, with a door to the beautiful garden/pool area. The weather wasn't nice enough to use the pool and hot tub but we're looking forward to getting back there soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Majestic Room - Perfect

We cannot think of a single thing that could have been improved upon. We had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed our stay at the Candlelight Inn. The breakfasts were delicious and the touring/dining/directions were extremely helpful. We definitely recommend a visit to beautiful Napa (and the Candlelight Inn) to our friends and family.
Thank you for helping to make our 27th wedding anniversary such a memorable one!

Absolutely gorgeous property. We stayed there 10 years ago and it was as good this time as last time. Very consistent. Breakfast was definitely 5 star gourmet. We stayed in the Winemaker room on the main level and it was very spacious. The beds were quite comfy and the hospitality top notch. The back yard was perfect for sipping wine and enjoying the beautiful weather. Sam has done an awesome job of making the place picturesque. I highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a wonderful and romantic stay in Napa. Quite close to some great restaurants in downtown Napa as well. Worth every penny.

Really reluctant to write this review because really don't want anyone to find it!

Just got back from a stay here. Sam and his staff couldn't have done more to make us welcome. Their knowledge of the area, with hints and tips provided over breakfast were excellent. Oh! the breakfasts!! We didn't have to eat until dinner! The presentation and variety were better than many hotels we've stayed in.
The room (no 1) was amazing. From the spa bath in the room, to the steps (yes, steps) up to bed, to the lovely bedding and decor.

There was complimentary wine tasting with reps from vineyards coming in, complementary wine available in the dining room, in the fridge, along with cheese platters, cake and coffees and teas.
They forgot nothing!

P.S Chela's Salsa Verde is second to none :o) Thanks everyone!

My parents spent their Fortieth Wedding Anniversary at The Candlelight Inn.
WOW!!!
There was so much attention to detail. My parents were so impressed as was I. They stayed in the cottage which is something everyone should experience at least once ok maybe twice. The three course breakfast in cottage was EXQUISITE. The staff was so kind and accommodating. If you have a special event whether anniversary, birthday or an event for yourself or a loved one Candlelight Inn will make your stay very special.........
You will leave feeling like you were 'Treated like Royalty".

Room Tip: Definitely

My husband and I recently spent our 35th wedding anniversary at this lovely house while also enjoying some wine tours in the valley. It was quiet, lush, comfortable and the breakfasts were out of this world! Sam and his staff made us feel like personal guests in his private home - our every need was met. Truly, truly memorable, an oasis of peace in a frenetic world. Thank you for all the hard work, Sam!

Candlelight Inn is located on the west side of the Napa Highway, at the end of a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood. It is a very quiet and pretty location. The rooms are quiet and well-appointed. The bed is firm and comfortable. The hosts are very attentive and helpful without being smothering. The breakfasts are excellent - elegant, without being too much food. There is an internet terminal, and the local (SF) papers are available in the living room.

You are a mile or 2 from downtown. For me this is a plus, as the place is quiet, and you have grounds, where you can sit outside and relax and lie on the sun. OTOH, you must be aware that there is nothing useful within walking distance.

The Inn itself was constricted in 1929, with a major addition in the 90's. Herein lies my only mini-objection. We stayed in the older part of the Inn. While the room was in almost all respects perfect, the heat is not controllable from within the room. Both we and our traveling companions (in another room) were both a bit troubled by our rooms getting fairly hot on the middle of the night, even after closing the heating vents. If this is the sort of thing which bothers you, then I would advise getting placed in the newer wing of the Inn.

With this single and fairly minor exception, we found the Inn to be a perfect place to stay and would recommend it highly.
