“Service?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We were looking forward to staying at this property. Unfortunately, a number of people in the party could not get into their rooms until late afternoon. Also, lotion, shampoo, coffee, soap, etc was not refilled when the room was cleaned. Depending on where you were located on the property, your room may not be cleaned until late afternoon. After having a confirmed rate, a resort fee and other fees were added to the bill.

Room Tip: Rooms are extremely small.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay at Silverado. I was disappointed in reading that you were not able to get into your rooms until later. Our check-in time is at 4:00 PM and we do our very best to try to get guests into rooms earlier . I will follow up with our Housekeeping Department with your comments about not having your amenities refilled as this is something that should've been done for you. Thank you for letting us know. We do hope you will give us another opportunity the next time your travels bring you back to the Napa Valley.

This historic resort is well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff took care of every request. We especially appreciated the concierge, who offered great advice about local dining. Speaking of dining, the food at the Royal Oak restaurant was superb, as was the service. In fact, we enjoyed the meal here much more than the celebrity joints in Yountville that cost much more!
The grounds are picture perfect, as you would expect from a resort that is focused around golf. We did not try the spa or the tennis.
Don’t bother going to the Grill for the “happy hour” – only a few items are discounted.
The conference center is very nice, and well run. The amenities (food, beverages, etc) provided for conference attendees are a notch above most hotels – if you are considering hosting a conference at this resort you will be pleased with the quality.
Do be aware that some of the guest rooms are a long walk from the main lobby, bar, dining and conference buildings. If that is a concern, ask for a closer room during booking.
While golf is the driving force for this property, it is very reasonably priced lodging for such a magnificent setting in the Napa valley. We enjoyed our stay, and did not experience any of the negatives reported by some previous posts in this forum. We do not hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: ask about distance between the room and the main buildings when booking

The grounds are beautiful! Location was excellent. For the price, (over priced) the rooms are inadequate. No small refrigerator. Ice machine not working in laundry room. TV had no HD cable service, just analog. Free internet connection was nice but slow at times. Staff was excellent. Although priced higher than where we stay on Maui, the room was clean and housekeeping was always on time and did a great job. We ate at the Grill and the service was good but the food was just ordinary. As a result we chose to eat off site. No receipt provided at check out. Printer was down. "I will email you the receipt." It did not come. Had to call to get receipt emailed to me. Pool area was well designed and clean. Pool Staff was excellent. Pool deck surface could use an overhaul, it is dated. Daily resort use fee was a surprise. :-(

Thank you very much for writing a review about your stay at Silverado. While we were glad to read you enjoyed our grounds and location, we were sorry to read that the rooms were not what you were hoping they would be. We are working very hard in updating not only our rooms, but our television services as well. We do currently offer many rooms that come with a full fridge. From reading your review it sounds as though you may have had our Resort Guestroom. In the near future our Resort guest rooms will come equipped with a mini fridge for our guest's convienence. We continue to work very hard at updating all of our rooms here on property and hope that you will have the opportunity to come back and enjoy them. We will make sure to share your review with the appropriate departments so that we can follow up on the challenges you mentioned. Thanks again for your comments!

We fell in love with this GEM. Lovely, spacious and beautiful grounds. A rare gem indeed. If they update the rooms the price will go through the roof. Keep it "As is". We were attending the Jazz festival. This was a happy accident.

My husband and I chose Silverado Resort for our first time in Napa, California and it was the definition of perfection. The resort was clean and tucked back amongst a newly designed golf course by the one and only Johnny Miller. Our room was not just a room, it was a little home with modern appliances and a fireplace. The staff prepared our room with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries that set the tone for our romantic weekend.

The Spa! We enjoyed a couples massage and the massage therapists were fantastic. Not only did she customize my massage because I was preparing for a half marathon but she also gave me several scents to choose from for my massage oil. The steam room and sauna were large and clean with helpful spa attendants. The waiting area offered fruit water, juices, raw almonds and dried fruit. That small snack was the perfect treat before my 80 minute massage. All in all an amazing place for relaxation.

The location of Silverado is close enough to several of the best wineries but secluded enough to be quiet and special. I plan to return to Silverado because I had an unforgettable experience.

This is a beautiful resort and reasonably priced for the area. The service is exemplary. I cannot remember staying anywhere that provided better service. The place is older but very week maintained and the grounds are beautiful.

We stay for our annual reunion in Famous Resort.
Needles to say price of this stay was $$$$$.
We had expectations but reality was far from expectation. It all started from registration. We were intercepted on our way to registry by IPAD equipped person and advised us quick registration over here on a steps.
After checking and confirming our reservation (?) he send us on our way to real registration and only after we joined a line. On arriving to our room we had a "nice" discovery- no safe, tiny shower place and only one sink.... I guess it was Motel 7 accommodation with top price!

I am very sorry to read that your visit with us for your annual reunion was below your expectations. I can understand your frustration when checking in to have to register two times. Our Ipad check-ins at the Front Desk are supposed to make for a quicker check in on those days we are busy. I do apologize this was not your experience and will look into why that happened.

While I cannot be sure, the room you described in your review does sound like our Resort Guestroom. Those rooms while the most affordable, are also the smallest rooms on property. We do of course offer more spacious suites, many that include full kitchens with a living room and separate bedroom area.

We do appreciate and thank you for your review. We hope there will be another opportunity in the future for us to exceed your expecations.
