This is Not an Inn. It's a Bed and Breakfast. Yes it's surrounded by vineyards. Of course, little in Napa Valley isn't! The combination entrance foyer/common breakfast room/ sitting/ fireplace area is in total about the size of a modest home living room. And, is therefore very small for it's multiple functions particularly at full occupancy. i.e., there is one dining table which is the equivalent of a large square picnic table where everyone is expected to sit, unless you want to request a specially placed table for two which is squeezed into the already small area and would be just ,... awkward. Our "Baked Eggs" were overcooked and rubbery and accompanied by a carrot muffin, no toast, no assortment of jams. Some unidentifiable compote and honey were the only options. The overall experience was above average as the owner and staff Are accommodating and helpful for planning your day's travels. However, even at an off season rate of $450/night this bed and breakfast is stupidly over priced. At $750/night in the height of the season it is truely absurd! And, contrary to claims of peace and quiet, if you get rooms 1 or 2 you will hear the cars and trucks that wiz by approximately 50 feet from your window! I personally believe the other 5 star reviewers must have been sampling far too many cabernets.

We are delighted that the guests enjoyed their stay with us as well as the help we provided to best enjoy the Valley. It’s unfortunate that they hadn’t realized that with only four guestrooms, guests are welcome to dine alone at the private tables overlooking the vineyards outside each room or in the privacy of their guest room. Most guests enjoy the substantial wine and cheese party in the evening, so actually enjoy getting together again at breakfast to compare notes on restaurants and dinner the night before. On the particular morning they referred to, they had come late to breakfast and we apparently should not have served them. My wife recently won two first place awards from Gourmand for her Chocolate For Breakfast cookbook and it also won first place from Writers Digest!

I also do not think that the guest realized that all rooms –including the two they mentioned but didn’t stay in-have double stone walls. Many repeat guests specifically request rooms #1 and 2.
