“Decent business hotel but beds are way too soft”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

This hotel was clean, contains a decent gym, and has a very convenient location -- overall a solid choice for someone travelling on business. As someone who enjoys sleeping on very firm mattresses, however, I found the hotel's beds to be much too soft, which kept me from sleeping comfortably night after night. I found the beds to be too soft even after adjusting the bed's dial to "super firm" and also after trying out two different beds.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Mt View is nice, but cramped to get in and out of. Hotel gets booked up heavily, so facilities are taxed. If you try to get a quick breakfast in the morning during the week, good luck. I had to sit out in the lobby. Fitness center was packed by 5:30am! Parking lot gets full by 6:30pm. But, rooms are standard HGI size and quality. Not quite as quiet as the Cupertino HGI, but acceptable for an HGI. Located on the El Camio Real, so access to Silicon Valley locations is easy.

Room Tip: Ground floor gets alot of foot traffic. Some problems with electrical that hotel fixed quickly. Prob...

We just spent one night here, but it was clean, quiet, comfortable and a very pleasant stay. The room was good size and modern, with a microwave and fridge. The lobby is particiularly nice with a cathedral ceiling, gas fireplace and skylights. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast served in the lobby was good, with lots of choices.

Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and of a decent size; hotel has a small pool if you're bringing the kids. Staff is consistently friendly, warm and helpful. There's a shuttle bus service to take you to nearby businesses, but in this area you really need a car--- not a lot of choices for restaurants or bars if you're without a car.

This hotel appears to cater to a business-oriented crowd and as such doesn't have a ton of stuff for the kids to do--- just the pool mentioned above--- not a lot of grass or play area.

There are other hotels closer to the "happening" part of Mountain View-- this location is a little more in the "strip mall" part of town, but the rooms are very quiet and you don't get a lot of street noise.

Not my first time stay here. Great location, next by CA-85 ramp, close to Castro st. Room is clean, service is great. if there is something in my opinion, food is just okay.
recommend for people who will spend sometime in Mountain View / Sunnyvale

We stayed October, 2012 and were very pleased with the overall experience. Our rate was $98 a night with AAA discount (before taxes) booked online. The room was very clean and more than adequate in size. The daily buffet breakfast was reasonably priced and had excellent selections. Across the street in a mall was a grocery store and great sushi restaurant. The front desk was very helpful in facilitating transportation back to the airport. If you are driving and on the opposite side of the street from the location, there is no place to turn in to the parking lot. You need to keep driving up the street and take the first opportunity to take a left "u turn" to go back to the hotel. If in the area, would have no trouble staying there again.

I stay at HGI's all over the country and this was as good as the rest. Good breakfast, good location, and friendly, helpful staff. Good weekend rates also. Hilton does a good job with the HGI brand and presents a good business travel value.

Room Tip: All rooms seem similar.
