“Terrific food, view and service!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011

I had read about this in the local paper and decided to try it. Wow - was I surprised by how good it was. Service was excellent, from the greeter to the servers. We ordered the California Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. This dish could compete with any Top Chef recipe. I'm looking forward to our next meal there.

“Great local place- food served with personality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

A favorite of ours. Great service and a menu that offers a wonderful selection of entrees, soups, salads and we never got to dessert having enjoyed the meals so much. The Caesar salad comes with homemade salad dressing. Soups are also homemade and the California mixes chowder with green chile soup for a little extra spiciness. Entree selections run the gamut from seafood to Mexican. There is something for everyone. The service is excellent and the staff is personable and laugh and smile a lot. There is outside patio seating with heaters and inside seating with a view of the estuary and bay. Sunset is an excellent time although lunch is also a treat. Bayside Cafe is casual and well located for campers at the state park. The cozy local feeling adds to the welcome feeling of the place.

“Great Location, Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Visited the Bayside for the first time and found it to be an enjoyable experience.

We arrived about 5pm on a Monday and were seated almost immediately at a table overlooking the water. We wanted fried clams as an appetizer which were not offered as one, so she discounted the fried clam dinner. Nice touch to please a customer. The clams were good. They did not appear factory made and frozen, but rather plump and fresh.

We ordered the special of the day which was a grilled fish salad. It was a large bed of mixed greens, broccoli and tomatoes topped with grilled halibut. House made vinaigrette was served on the side as was warm bread. Overall the dish was very good with the fish perfectly cooked. A much healthier way to enjoy the catch of the day than deep fried.

We will be back

“Tasty fresh food offered inside & outside bay side”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Just returned from celebrating a friend's birthday by having lunch at this cozy cafe. Atmosphere is casual. Seating offered both inside and on a heated patio. We chose to sit on the heated patio today as the fog rolled in. The menu is varied. Something for every one. Today we had the fish tacos that were a combination of ono, salmon, lobster & ahi. Two large soft shell tacos were offered covered with greens, tomatoes and guacamole. Salsa and cilantro sauce sides included. It was almost more than I could eat and my friend took a portion of her meal home. The server was attentive. While dining you have a view of the bay and marina. Plenty of free parking and there are paths around the bay you can stroll after your meal. If you every find yourself in Morro Bay State Park area you need to include this restaurant on your list!

“We really enjoy the Bayside Cafe.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

My wife and I camp a lot at Morro Bay State Park and this little restaurant is right across the road at the State Park Marina. It's a rustic, quaint little place with heated patio seating and indoor seating too. They have a good wine and seafood selection. For dinner I had the Bayside Steamers, ($22), which was Clams, mussels, crab claws, scallops, slipper tail lobster, & shrimp with white wine, lemon juice, tomatoes, garlic, butter, & green onion. It was only an appetizer but was enough for a meal. Delicious! My wife had Clam Chowder and it was delicious too.
