“Clean, quiet, comfortable, and close to everything.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

Owners want to please. Clean and comfortable. King bed was great. Bathroom has granite counters and shower. Shower is very good. A/C in every room. We didn't need it, but natives say September and October can be very warm. We paid a little more for upstairs room with bay view. The view was OK. Could see Morro rock and the power plant. Location is great. You can walk to embarcadero waterfront shops and restaurants in 5 minutes. Very quiet part of town. Slept with windows open and no noise. Wireless internet did not work at first. But, we asked the owners and they re-booted their router and it then it worked great. Internet was far better here than at a Hilton we stayed at later in the trip. Big screen TV with very good channel selections. No pay per view movies. Little frig and microwave. Don't expect to cook here. But good enough to store milk for breakfast, keep water bottles cold, and reheat leftovers from dinner. Considering price and location, this has got to be the best value in Morro Bay.

The rooms were recently renovated with granite in the bathroom. The bed very very comfortable. There were no smells and you could not hear the neighbors eventhough the hotel was full. It had an A.C. which is great for hot weather and a fan. very clean! The only bad thing was that the room was small. But who goes to the beach to hang out in the room

Room Tip: They accomidate babies well.

We have stayed in Morro Bay many times and had noticed this Best Western before because we have eaten breakfast several times at Carla's Country Kitchen right next door. So we decided to try this motel for a couple nights since I had read that it had been remodeled a couple years ago, it is less expensive than the place we normally stay, and we could add on to our Best Western points account.
The room was actually better than I expected, although nothing fancy. It was large enough (king size bed), newer furnishings, and very clean on the 2nd floor. The bathroom was updated and from the bathroom window over the tub/shower we had a great view of "The Rock" (not that it matters - I just thought it was funny when I opened the window and saw "The Rock" right there!).
The only reason I do not give this motel a higher rating is that the breakfast area is so tiny we decided both mornings to eat breakfast next door at Carla's. It is obvious that this is an older motel, built before the days when most places offer a continental breakfast, and the breakfast area is just a nook carved out of the office lobby. If the breakfast area had been more comfortable, we probably would have eaten breakfast there one of the mornings.

I stayed here in April 2011 with my spouse and children. The hotel is pretty well-located in Morro Bay, with an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of the embarcadero. The room is a bit small, with a small bathroom and minimal amenities, but they do keep it quite clean. Access is by exterior walkway. A bit of road noise since it is on a corner. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Price similar or a bit better than nearby places.

We decided to stay one extra night on our road trip and we choose to stop in Morro Bay. We found this hotel to be perfect. Clean close to the waterfront and just what we needed. The kids enjoyed the breakfast especially the waffles in the morning. The room has a microwave and fridge so that was handy as well.

price was within budget with rooms available on a last minute check. quiet and freshly remodeled with outstanding WiFi. my husband cannot live without his computer so quality WiFi is of the utmost importance next to Hotel Rates. He actually asked the very friendly lady at the front desk about the WiFi. She commented that it was some sort of commercial WiFi which no other hotel we've ever stayed at has.

this hotel is next door to "Carla's Kitchen" which is the best breakfast house in Morro Bay! no need to drive around. we parked the car and walked most of our stay.

the only bad news if i have any would be the wild kids who were on spring break who were rather noisy in the alley adjacent to our window. NOT THE HOTEL'S FAULT!

The hotel as basic but comfortable with a huge king size bed. Our room was roadside and therefore quite noisy - we were woken early by the bins being emptied. However it was a good location, only 5 mins walk from the bay and all the restaurants.

Breakfast was repulsive - you'd be better off going out of the motel for food.

Speedy free wifi although we had to phone reception to ask for the code, it wasn't provided.
