Front Street is a spectacular getaway for any couple. We made Morro Bay our base of operations for exploring the area's wineries, bringing home special choices and creating our own sunset wine and cheese hour in front of the big picture window overlooking Morro Rock, with a fire flickering to the side if fog rolled in. We awakened each morning to the aromas of the French bakery downstairs preparing croissants and other delicacies, which became a morning ritual. The spacious Jacuzzi tub bath had been newly redone. Innkeeper Val had thoughtfully provided menus for local restaurants, which are numerous and varied, as well as a small library of seafaring books to explore. Don't miss seeing the nesting Peregrine Falcons at the Rock or the beautiful ocean views at Montana de Oro State Park.

Room Tip: Only two suites-- "Hideaway" has private stairs and the great Jacuzzi. "Big Sur"...

I get a bit confused by the definition of B&B / Inn. This is basically more like a serviced apartment - and a very nice one at that. It does have a lovely big set of windows over the bay - not many rooms in this town can offer that I think - there are LOTS of motels further back in town...

The room was very comfortable with a nice seating area and a lovely big bed. The TV channel choice wasn't brilliant but that just meant that we couldn't watch the America's Cup later in the evening. Coffee and tea making facilities were OK and an iron was provided which was very useful as we had a case full of creased clothes.

Some nicer toiletries in the bathroom would have improved the experience but that's my only true gripe.

But it's not a B&B and I wouldn't describe it as an Inn either...

Room Tip: There are only 2 - we were in Hideaway

My husband and I recently stayed at this very unique inn on the Morro Bay waterfront. The views of the waterfront and Morro Rock added to the charm of this one-of-a-kind hotel. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. We were able to walk everywhere from the Inn and the owner provided lots of helpful information on places to eat and visit. It was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

Have traveled coast of California many times. spent 3 nights at this lovely comfortable beautiful Inn in Morro Bay. My husband and I got great couples massage and explored the walking path to the rock. It was so fun to walk around the town. I recommend this hotel to couples who want a quiet romantic stay.

Driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles this is a perfect stopover point. This was a perfect hotel to stay in with magnificent views of Morro Rock and the harbour. We even got used to the seals barking during the night, just made it more atmospheric.....

Lovely clean and well furnished room, and we were made to feel very welcome.

Would recommend to couples of any age.

We spent 3 nights in the lovely Big Sur room. Loved the redwood decor, the photographs and furnishings. Made me feel like I really had traveled to Big Sur. The room was very clean and comfortable and the view of morro rock and the harbor was unbelievable. We loved sitting on the couch and watching the people on the harbor walk and all the boating activity. There are commercial boats that catch crab, black cod and prawns. You can buy these fresh at the local fish market up the street. Everything is within walking distance. It was great to leave the car parked while we explored on foot. Had my birthday dinner at Frankie and Lola's. next door. The food was very good, but the service was slow. Oh well, just gave us more time for our botle of wine.
The Spa part of Front Street Inn is called BayBeauty Spa. We had a wonderful couples massage in a special room with Ann and Jeanette. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I also had a facial with Val. My skin never felt better.
All in all we loved Morro Bay and the Front Street Inn & Spa. Hope to return for my birthday next year.

The Hideaway is a wonderful place to escape to!( My husband says I'm funny in My head!) Really beautifully designed! I can't wait to go back!!! And....Windows on the Water for dinner...be sure to get there way before sunset!

Room Tip: Both rooms quite nice. We had a private staircase, but the other has an elevator!
