“A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

We stayed at the Sundown Inn for two nights last October as part of a 3 week road trip of California. This hotel was a great find and very reasably priced. The owners were friendly and welcoming. They always had a pleasent greeting when they saw us. The rooms were comfortable and very clean and suited us well. The location was great as it was only a short walk to the Embarcadero and some lovely restaurants and bars. We were enjoying the vast range of locally produced beers at some of the bars. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for small, friendly, clean and cheap accomodation. Thank you Sundown.

This is a good family owned motel. Super clean, very comfortable beds, and the nicest people own and manage the place. we have been going there for four years now and it is always a pleasure. Close to down town but very quiet - an easy walk to almost all the eating places. We will be staying at the Sundown whenever we are in Morro Bay.

This is a place my ex and I discovered several years ago. We visited it many times, and the staff very accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable, close walking distance to all, but best of all, MAGIC FINGERS!! Will miss this our road trips here.

We stayed here during the Cal Poly graduation because all the local hotels double their rates for that weekend, and this was a low-cost option. Although the room was small, it was spotless and included a microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, and portable fan (which cooled the room very well at night.) Only down side: the mattresses were a bit saggy-OK for a couple of nights, but not the best. Also, if you don't like an all-in-one liquid soap/shampoo, bring your own shampoo and conditioner.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, and seem to do everything themselves-staff the office, clean the rooms, etc. Short walk to downtown (get your breakfast at Top Dog, only two blocks away) and the Embarcadero.

We stayed here two nights, nice, clean and quiet, a small Inn with a nice Host.
Good locaton, it's a short walk down to the seaside and all the restaurants. You can also walk out to the Morro Rock from here.

Last week I went to Morro Bay. Sundown Inn is the place to stay! Clean, quiet, safe. Everything you need: microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker. Comfortable beds - your home away from home. Short walk to the harbor. Privately run by nice people who will take good care of you.

Well maintained and very clean-a real find!! My wife left some clothes in the room, we called, and they shipped them to us and we had them within a few days!! Excellent service! This ace is a real value because of the cleanliness, location, and price.
