“Great breakfasts, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2011

My family has been going here for breakfast for years and years, every time we visit the Cayucos/Morro Bay area. We've never once been disappointed. The food is always good, and the service is always at least good, sometimes great. This last time, everything was perfect, including our super-nice waiter, finding answers to questions when he didn't have the answer himself. We always look forward to having breakfast here, and would always recommend it.

“Moderate upscale dining at the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2010

My husband and I made reservations and received a great table. I had salad and scallops. My husband soup and steak. The salad was very good - although pre-made. The scallops could have been seared better, but did taste good. The soup and steak were both great. The cocktails were a bit overpriced at $10/ea for this location. We would go back again!

“Like for breakfast, maybe lunch... not dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2010

Had dinner at Dorn's last night. We'd made reservations earlier in the day.. they couldn't find them, seated us quickly anyway... next to the door - VERY LOUD with people waiting to get seated. I ordered Ahi appetizer - $16.50 and meager. My son ordered a medium NY steak... it was overcooked and dry, wife and friend ordered one of the specials - Sand Dabs... overcooked as well. Father in law had a salad - kudos on not shorting on the stuff in the salad... but it was overdone.. it was hardly a salad anymore ... you almost couldn't taste anything but the bleu cheese.
My daughter is vegan... I know this can be difficult... but she ordered a "garden" pasta... it was pathetic... not only that, but the waitress brought her a plain lettuce salad... and then said "booooring" as she served it to her - nice service.

In any case.. not worth the cost for dinner, but their breakfast is fine and their clam chowder is creamy and very good. I was sorely dissapointed in their dinner. If you can be there at sunset it's really a great view, but the food is mediocre.

“Good food with a view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2010

This isn't gourmet food, but it is good food and the view of the harbor is charming.
