“Relaxing Vacation Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

My family and I go there several times a year. This is an idealic, picuresque bay, with so much to see. Quite beautiful with the rock by the bay. Boats of all types are always to be seen and there is a parking area by the rock/bay where you can watch sea otters playing and feeding. There is a nice walkway along the bay/rock area and a bike path. Along the embarcadero there are boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats which can be rented during the summer months. There are many shops along the embarcadero for shopping and also quaint shops in the other town areas of Morro Bay.

“Beautiful, but always cold.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Brrrrrrrr. If you don't mind the persistent chill it is beautiful. However, I am not a fan of the chilly Morro Bay ambiance. And, if you go from out-of-town make certain you visit during the winter. This place is shrouded in grey and clouds from May through October.

“Take a drive out to the Rock!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Yes, you can drive out to the Rock and even hike up to the top! This is a great area to view sea otters and seals along the bay. This is also a great area for bird watchers as well. Love driving out to the rock and watching the wildlife.

“Cool if you're in the area already”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Morro Rock is a fun place to visit and spend a couple hours to a half day. The geology of the entire region is quite impressive. Walk around, enjoy the scenery (if it's clear), eat some of the local food. I ate at the "Lil Shack", it was nice. There are lots of nice places to go and picnic around there too.

“Its an impressive rock”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Meh, its an impressive rock to drive up to, but it's still just a rock. Nice beach to walk and better views from the North side of the outlet.
